Nope. That's the sandblast cabinet glove.

Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
I say "Unexplained" because we're not sure how it happened. Just found it like that. Thinking maybe the parts cleaner was used on some parts (diff project), then the blast cabinet was used. The cleaner ate/melted the glove (when not in use)? Evidently not the same rubber material as the parts cleaner gloves.

Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Got the vinyl cleaned up on the bench seat. Turned out nice (considering). Brightened up quite a bit. The only cleaner I could find local and suitable was Mothers VLR.
@oldman3 is there a preferred brand of upholstery (fabric) cleaner that you'd recommend if I wanted to try and clean the fabric inserts myself? Or should I wait and have it professionally cleaned?

Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
I'm a little concerned with the age of the fabric and scrubbing it if that's what's required. Should I be? Would that type of cleaner dry it out over time?

Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Seems ok on the OG seat in LBT, and I scrubbed the hell out of it. I'd say go light and damp and see where it goes. Good luck!

Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Thanks! All of my pictures are stored off-site (different domain) and linked to.
I don't upload pictures directly to this site. I notice they had maintenance the other day here on the site. Maybe something went wrong.

I use photobucket to upload mine to, resize them then copy and paste the links in my posts. Photobucket used to be awesome, but they redid their site recently and it really sucks now!

Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Need some advice.
Do you think we should paint the whole cab (fenders, hood, etc...) first? And the bed separate.

Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
From what I've been around, as long as you mix the paint together and spray part of the truck, then save the paint, you should be fine. I know guys that paint piece by piece and you would never know it. But they are way better painters than I .

Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
Thanks Ryan Lots of painting left, trying to figure the best approach. Sure seems like a lot more metal going back on than it did coming off
p.s. No cicadas were inttentionally killed in the photo shoot above. The cicada killer wasp must have gotten him before the raid got it.

Re: Project "My Happy Mess"
A lot depends on type of paint, non-metallic or metallic. At least for me. Non-metallic I've done piece by piece and no problems. With metallic I try to spray the fenders, doors, hood and cab the same day. Then bed, fenders tailgate, etc. the next. My luck with metallic is bad piece by piece on different days, even with the same can of paint, just a little difference in pressure or distants from panel has made a difference....Jim
