Did you remember to reverse the polarity when switching from solid to flux core? It is a world of difference if the polarity is backwards.

Flux core doesn't suck, just your welding skills. So what's that wanna be muffler supposed to do.

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

its mroe like a cherry bomb....
or a resionator....
not a muffler... a muffler needs "chambers"
a muffled helps "diffuse" valve poping etc..

Usually there is a + and - terminal near where the wire spool goes. The wires go in one order for Solid and the other for Flux Core. It should be labeled DCEN (Electrode Negative for Flux Core) and DCEP (Electrode Positive for Solid Wire). One wire goes to your ground and the other to your gun. If you have a manual for your welder it should say in it.

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

well the truck Chevy looks good, but i thought this was a chevy site? most of this thread is about your ford no one wants to be on a chevy forum and read about a ford, and you worry way to much bout the mufflers and carbs why dont you just get a carb like the one you had that broke, save your and buy the mufflers instead of waisting time tubeing and welding gas makin your own and then changeing your mind an hour later

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

well i changed the wires on the welder i guess ill see if it works tomorrow
and some guy down the street from me is threatening me for driving by his house (some druggie m f-er) cause i spun my tires in the mud
i only did it once and he was getting up in my face
i drove by in my chevy because i was seeing if it was shifting because i finally hooked up the vacuum line
anyway he told me to keep my ass at home and not to drive by again
i think somebody needs his butt whooped

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

Hows the Fo#d coming? That reminds me I was going to check my wires. Best to just live and let live. Don't beat the druggie up. Maybe just spin your tires else where.

Re: ''Project '64 SYT Super Yenko Truck"

I can tell you this from my own experience...don't **** in your own nest, it will just cause you trouble, If you learn now to avoid unnecessary conflict you will save yourself alot of fights and BS, you could spend the time working on your truck rather than trying to be a tough guy, I never lost a fight but I still don't think I am a tough guy...I did back then and it got me no where...just some advise
