Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Ray here. Day 7
The unit has arrived.
Not the same one I shipped out. This one is new so in the end they did not fix it they just replaced it........I'm ok with that.

Tried plugging in the UBC cable but it snapped off before it got half way in....Bummer..

Don't need that to get it running....

Install assy.................Hand controller totally in op.....DEAD...
Glad this is winter..

Ray.

I told you all I would keep it real good or bad. And I have. Got a couple of emails about the end result from all of this EFI crash burn experience.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Isn't that the right thing to do though, if it doesn't work get a refund? Sounds like people might be better off buying it from summit or jegs. In my experience they stand behind what they sell, and they have a bigger stick to hit the manufacturer with.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Mine has been sitting in a box for a month now. Got my motor and tranny rebuilt, was about to take it home from my friends shop and the brand new oil pan is leaking from the weld. Just haven't had time to pull it all back out and replace it. Been working on this silly truck since July.

I just bought my hose and ends from Summit, didn't know that they have a "Beat-a-Price Guarantee". Just saved $65 on a $320 order, ain't a lot but it does let me buy more stuff
Now to find the best price on the FiTech Go EFI 4 and have Summit beat that price.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Ray here.
It was painfully simple...Kind of..
If you try to put the data cable into the 12v side It pushes the pin over and the hole is far larger than the male connecter for the 12v side.. It will go in with no resentence with the wire bent over....NO POWER..
Simple.....

Ray.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

I got mine from Pace Performance, first time I've used them. I hate to tally how much I've spent on just the drivetrain. I'm well north of 10K at this point!!

Lol. Don't get me start on $$. I got over 40K in mine as it sits. And that isn't counting new tranny and other things I have and what else is going to be done.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Are you keeping the tank/pump setup you had with EFI?

Yes I am. But replacing all the fuel line and fittings and inline filter. Ordered a Aeromotive fuel log bypass regulator combo kit.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

After all the hard work and $ and effort converting over to EFI I had to keep something lol. Now I like a intank pump better than a mechanical pump. Plus the way it is going to be setup will be perfect.
But I have a extra baffled tank and all that fuel line I used for the EFI setup.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Plus I had to buy me a new Innovative AFR gauge for some fine tuning. The AEM one I had took a dump on me. It will only be used for tuning. Sure as hell won't be mounted in the truck.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Ray here.
The 950 works very well but when your jumping 10-15 feet in the air and landing hard.
Float bowls don't always do well with that.
Was (Still) hoping EFI would be the answer..

As we know sometimes the answer can become the problem.

Ray.
