Well, after all the moving the motor back and forth. When I drilled new holes in the frame and I liked the way it looked. I ran into the orignal problem. The distubtor would not clear the fire wall. So, I spent the time today putting it back to where the distubtor would go in the hole. Back in the front holes for the V-8 perches. I know what you guys are thinking. I should have let it alone. And you are right. But this old man is hard headed. So now I can start runing towards to finish line. Or in my case walking.

That's good to hear, what driveshaft did you use or are you going to have to have one cut down.

Well after all the moving the motor back and forth, I still ran into the orignal problem. The distubtor would not fit into the hole. So I put it back in the V-8 holes. The drive shaft still would not work. So I got another shaft today.
Everytime I got close to the motor with wrenches it started to screem. No do not move me. So this is where it is going to stay.

A friend came over today and he needed a 3 speed standard transmission. So we just swaped parts. It came out of a v-8 truck. I don't know if it is going to have to be shorten or not. I will know tomorrow.

I don't mean to but I'm sitting here chuckling and shaking my head.
It's all good though now you can move forward and get the driveshaft installed.
Then you can plumb the fuel lines, instal the wiring harness, and get it down to the muffler shop.

Pretty cool how things like driveshafts just pop into your lap sometimes, isn't it? Hopefully I can remember your learnings here when I put my 350 onto the frame in the near future.

Looking good, George. Do you have the brakes all installed and bled already, too? I've been grabbing one of my kids for the pedal pushing duties lately when I do brakes.

Yes the brakes are already installed. I still have to run my rear brake lines. The front rubber lines. waiting for parts. Later I will be going over to pick up the drive shaft. I hope it fits and don't need to be shorten. But time will tell.
He needed the transmission and I needed the drive shaft.

Go ahead Brian have a good laugh. So am I. If we can't laugh once in a while life would be dull. But I have paid the rent on the motor and it has a home now. I thought about welding the motor in place so I would not move it again but I didn't. So now I am waiting on parts. I am at a stand still untill I get them.

Today I didn't even touch the truck. Had to play catch up on some of my honey doo projects. First, I painted some trim on the house. Then I Planted some hidges and weeded some of the flowers beds. still got to weed the crat merdels tomorrow. It seems to never end. So I am going to let the truck set untill I get caught up on my list. Got to keep the little woman happy.(happy wife=happy life)

Hey guys who taught the parts housed the word (back order) I hate that word. But I did get a new bullet chrome dip stick and tube. I was going to use the black one I got in the mail the other day. But it leaked or I new it would. There was a small crack on the base of the tube. Right where it goes into the block. I am glad I found it now. I kinda like the chrome one. If not sorry about my luck.

Ooooo, shiny!

There is so much stuff that has slid around here it's not even funny. It's good to keep some sort of balance like you are doing, though. The stuff that slides just eats at me when I'm working on Mustard. Heck, I've even let a project to fix a slide on the kids play fort slide... The slide repair has slid, get it??? Funny. Fortunately I've got an understanding (i.e. forgiving) wife.

Yea the last few days I have been working on things around the house. Still got several thing that needs attention. Every day I look for the mail man and still no parts. I did get a orignal equipment wiper motor fixed. I took it to a friends shop that works on auto electric. He went thru it and rebuilt it for parts the price was only 35.00. He also is going to build me a alt.and starter. But I can't ask him to do it for parts only. 120.00 for a complete 90 amp. alt fully chrome. The starter will be black. It is down under the exhaust and stuff so you can't see it anyway. that isn't that bad for both. i also got a water pump 2 belt pulley for 22.00. well I guess I have bored you long enough. Be good my friend and happy building.

Today I pulled the trailoring arms and the tracking arm off the truck. I ordered the bushings and as soon as they are here I will be installing them. I only had them attached with loose bolts. So they came off real easy. I should pick up my wind shield motor Wednesday. I will drop off the started to be re-built at time. It is only 6 months old. But I thought I better be sure it is up to snuff.

No new parts came in today. The company I deal with send me the tracking number so I can find out where they are.

Today, I was surfing the parts board and found a 67 grill that looks real good. He was asking 50.00 for it. plus shipping. I will know friday If I buy it or not. He is going to post some more pictures of it after he takes it off the truck. Nothing to post tonight. I have been working on a orbor for a old couple that I have know for a little while. Had to put lattic on top for shade so they could set outside and enjoy the summer. Hope to have some parts here this week.

Today I finshed the lattic on the perigelo. I also installed the trailoring arms bushings and the tracking arm bushings. Tomorrow I will put them back on the truck. That part of the build will be done. Now to do something with the rest of the build. I made a list of things that need to be ordered. Bunch of little stuff. I did pick up my wiper motor and pump today. It looks brand new. I sent it out and boy did he do a good job. So I gave him two more to do. I hope that he does them the same way.

I am still waiting on parts. So I worked on my honey do list some more. I did repaint the trailoring arms and the tracking arm and the tail lights brackets. Maybe tomorrow I will sand blast the trail lights I bought on line the other day. They are in perfect shape. But need to clean them up an repaint them. If my memory serves me right I only paid 20.00 ship for the tail lights.

Gotta love new paint. Sure you don't want to go with orange or silver on the trailing arms? I've seen some pretty cool silver ones on this forum. That being said, black is probably what I would have done if I kept the trailing arms, too.
