Attended a car show and on the way home blew something in my engine. Had to trailer it home!

About 30 miles. But I had to get a ride to go get a trailer. So it ended up being over 60. The truck is home in the garage waiting for tear down.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

All I did today to mine was just drive it

I wanted to take some pictures of it as I'm thinking about selling it to replace it with a 2008 Mustang GT.

Spent ages writing an ad which I put on a hot rod forum in the UK and the only responses have been from people saying 'don't do it, Mustangs are 10 a penny but where in the UK will you find another truck like that'.

I think they may be right

Don't do it! On another note, if that is a factory stance . . . I like it!

Loss of power, got up to 225, started knocking and shut off. I just did a compressing test. All had 150 except #3it had under 125. I'm hoping that its something in the head only.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

Drove it something like four and a half hours to Summit and back to pick up the new floor pans for my Impala...spent about two hours of that baking in traffic @ a humid 90-93º.

On the positive side, I did get a nice $290 steel flywheel for $80 from the scratch and dent shelf.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

I started installing my AAW Classic Update Kit. They include eveything. Unbelieveable! With the great instructions and their tech support, this should go fairly well . . . . which means I'll get my truck on the road ON SCHEDULE!

I am not the poster of the pics but I know those are made by Speedhut.com They custom build your gauges when you order them. You can specify all types of items, like font, lighting color, bezel style, etc. I have used them for a couple projects and love them.

Hey sorry I missed this post. The poster above is right, they are from Speedhut. They were running a 10% off sale in May so I built them using their configurator.

They will glow blue at night, but only the numbers and lines, so they'll look more like modern gauges rather than my old set of autometer that lit the entire gauge.

You can get them in a bunch of different styles, colors, fonts, lighting colors, etc. A lot of customization is possible. I got a GPS-driven Speedo, so no worrying about transmission gearing or hookups which will be nice.

What you see in the pics came that way right out of the box. The kit even includes a bag of sample wire terminals so you can practice crimps. I have every confidence that this will go well.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III

I swapped out my 3 row radiator for a 4 row. The 3 row wasn't cooling good enough for me and after the A/C is installed it is going to get worse. The first pic is the 3 row and the 2nd is the 4 row. I had to widen the mounts to get it to fit And In the last picture I got my new tires mounted and am waiting to put them on.. I am ready for my trek to LA next Friday.

I took my boy shane out for his first ride in HIS 64 c10. He absolutely loved it. Also installed a 40 series flowmaster hooked up to the 292. Sounds amazing

I built myself a homemade swamp cooler. (Got a new pneumatic rivet gun and went a little nuts with it...)
