Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

Great pictures, all of them, and a great time I'm sure. You can always spot those ski areas from as far as you can see. I'm surprised big bear doesn't help himself to the tasty morsels left behind.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

That's the same temp they are calling for in my county seat. I'm surprised your temps won't be lower. It may get colder here. It usually does when it is still out. No wood burning here yet. I turned on the living room baseboard this morning since there was rain called for along with the cold front. My bedroom window is open. My room will be good and cool by morning

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

Nice way to vacation. They said if you flew there then you wouldn't have a way to get around and you said "Yes, Yukon". (Ah jeez, I really should just stop trying). Anyway, how did it XLR8? No, really. I bet that thing drove nice! You took the classic American "Out West" vacation like back when that was in a Caprice Estate Wagon driving on the 2-lanes. Most likely the whole way out and back!

I am sure I will leave out some stuff, but we
flew into Rapid City SD, Did Rushmore at night
(Lighting ceremony) Then next day did Needles,
Crazy Horse, and some other scenic drives also,
plus visited Sturgis. Then drove to Devil's Tower,
and up into Montana to Little Big Horn. Then next
day it was Beartooth Highway into Yellowstone (E
GATE) across upper loop, to (W GATE) ID. Next
day Old Faithful and rest of the loop. Next day
down to Victor (Laid~Back Clothing) over into
Jackson and Jackson Hole, up into Tetons, and
back through park to Old Faithful again, over
into ID. Next day across park and out (Central
Gate) over to Cody, and across WY to Buffalo
and through another scenic drive to Deadwood.
Next day went to Cemetery there then over to
Rushmore during the daytime, then went to
Missle thingy near Badlands, then all through
Badlands, back to Rapid City, SD. Flew home.

You hit a lot of stuff, pretty far and wide. I'd say you got your gas money's worth. I wondered of you got over into Idaho. My sister is in Targhee, ID. Just had a birthday yesterday.

Yeah, that gets my vertigo going! Once I helped take a transmitter off the edge of a building, 11 stories up, and two of us standing on a rickety sawhorse made out of 2 by 6es. Man, I was drenched with sweat when we got that off. We didn't have any fall arrest gear, either. I told my supervisor never again. Another time, I climbed to the top of a 200 foot radio tower. I was actually OK with that, because it had stairs. Crawling over the diagonal bracing was annoying, though. I managed to stick my head out of the hatch, but that was all. One of the other engineers stood on the platform and counted to ten, then came down. When I worked at Cape Canaveral, I had to go outside on the top level. Something like 200 feet up. I hugged the wall as far from the railing as I could get. I think one could see Cuba from up there, on a clear day.

Thanx Tim.
It doesn't get that calm very often. It was early in the morning and cloudy so the sun hadn't had a chance to stir things up.
