Rick!!! get rid of those rubber strips of intake leakers, then run a bead of "Right Stuff" silicone front and back. Then let it cure for atleast 12 hours before running it!

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

Yep we're gonna have to keep his thread going without him again so Dale, as I'm driving this big block 396 elco, the engine looks fairly clean and appears to have been repainted and rebuilt not to long ago, it was sitting in my buddies back storage for a couple of years, anyway as I hammer down the gas pedal it takes off and has some good power. Enough power for me to say "yeah this has the potential for some tickets", but I am saying to myself that my truck would eat this thing up. Now the big block sounds like it had a stock cam, nice smooth idle. After seeing my cam specs and knowin that I only have 1.94 heads is it possible that my hp's are up around 350?

That's what I feel like when I look at other people's builds and there engines and then I look it my tired 302 all dirty and leaky marking its territory everywhere I go.. So hopefully when I pop the good and you see my 327 "turbo fire" all cleaned up, everybody will have something to look at!

Don't know about the black magic... it should work better than those rubber strips. I am kicking my butt for dropping the 350 in my 95 with the rubber strips. It is POORING out oil! Ask anyone one here about the rubber strips.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

yes Rick do not use the rubber end gaskets. use a good quality silicone. Put a small dab under the side gaskets at the end and then a 1/4 inch bead and set the manifold.Let it cure at least overnight before you start it. So set the manifold before you put the motor in and it will be cured by the time you get it all hooked up. If you have questions, call me
