Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

So, I'm a VW guy, and I hate to say it, but most of the hot rod paint trends show up at the VW shows first.

This my flat black '56 with red interior bug...painted in 2004.

and the patina look has been in for VW a long time also.

here's my 59

Also about four or five years ago, I saw bugs sanded to bare metal and clear coated. The was a 50's Suburban on the hot rod power tour done that way, and lot of people have not seen it.

The latest trend is original paint, but a non matching repair panels is a bonus. the replacement part should have original paint also.

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

A lot of VW guys are Chevy guys also....I always have had a Chevy truck and a VW. My first truck was a 49 chevy and my first car was a 73 beetle.

I wouldn't fancy a new Camaro or Corvette, but I it's hard to ignore the character of an old truck.

Don't know of any Dodge vans that shared a GM 6 lug pattern. They might be Dodge but it would be a Mitsubshi / Dodge Mighty Max mini truck
