Re: 198Plus build

that looks great, i bet your getting pretty excited now, sleepless nights, constant day dreaming about the truck, setting in the shop for hours waiting for paint to dry so you can put on one small piece of chrome to see how the paint reflects off of it. its great being a gearhead aint it.

Re: 198Plus build

that's weird...i can't see how the Lexus tore all the way through the side & didn't have anymore damage to the front...and i would think it would take a lot of speed to cause that much damage

Re: 198Plus build

They would need to use the jaws of life...to pry my hands from around her neck. HOW does someone lose control of their vehicle to that extent?

(sorry for the derail- I just get defensive seeing how much work people put into their classic vehicles)

and- fantastic work on the truck- been following this build anticipating the final, happy chapter!

Looks like the front of the drivers door is kicked out a little at the front. Did I pass the test? Other than that I like it.

Re: 198Plus build

I've never seen that yet, until now. You said there is no filler, are you sure? That's weird that both sides are like that. What was the name on the rockers?

Re: 198Plus build

I would try a 4" wide chisel and try to create the body line. It might eliminate cutting so much. Pull a piece of tape to show where where the line needs to be.

Re: 198Plus build

Maybe you could flatten out the lower part of the fenders a little. A little out on the fenders and a little more crease on the rockers. I know......easier said than done.
