Re: 1971 Stepside LS Build
All the work paid off this weekend with a win at the C10 Nationals. The truck was given the top interior award for the show.
The judges made five trips by the truck between Thursday and Friday and I learned a lot about what they look at. With all that I just didn't think I could compete with the shop/vendor builds that have unlimited resources. I'm really tired after pulling the trailer for 8 hours in the pouring rain and it really just hasn't soaked in yet (no pun intended) ![]()

Congratulations! That's a testament to your attention to detail and how well thought out the interior is.

Pictures don't do it justice. Those colors really pop in person. Outstanding work on your truck Shannon, well deserved and congrats again on your win.

Re: 1971 Stepside LS Build
Congratulations Shannon! You earned it for sure. I saw at least 6 trucks with heavily modified wild interiors that must have cost 2-3 times what you have into yours. Looks like the judges went for clean and classy.

Re: 1971 Stepside LS Build
Thank you all. As to what Cornerstone said, I saw a lot of trucks that had some over the top interiors so I was pretty shocked they called my name. I'm not giving it back now

What an honor to win the TOTM on this board. I joined the board in 2002 and thought I would be done with the truck a year or two later
![]() I appreciate all the help, friends, and support this board has given me.

Re: 1971 Stepside LS Build
Lots to congratulate you on. All well deserved. The spoils of great effort and resources. Been fun to follow the build and exciting to see all the cool experiences the truck has afforded so far...more to come I'm sure.
Great truck. Great build. Thanks for sharing.

Re: 1971 Stepside LS Build
Either you cleaned out your garage or you moved. Was the red a special order option?

Re: 1971 Stepside LS Build
Having a lot of fun at the shows this summer with the truck. Meeting some great people along the way. I still don't have the AC charged and going but otherwise the truck is running great.
