I just have to get a feel for this truck and what its driving tendancies will be. (I look forward to it!!!) Our local drag track is home to the famous CA Street Outlaw Racer "BODIE" and his crew. So if I get an opportunity to go out and do some "No-P" track days it might be fun. The NHRA rules there most likely will NOT let me run with their 'regulars'... so the outlaw events will be the next best thing. For now Im just gonna do plenty of shakedown drives and show it to friends and family that have been watching the build for the past 3 years and make sure that everything is good and tight and ready to do some serious speed runs (in controlled conditions) at events and such. Might even try an autocross!!!

Tried PM but must have got lost... You really have some cool things going on with your build!! I am extremely interested in your power distribution system but only could find one picture [RE: Page 28, Post #688] to support your setup; therefore, if you don’t mind would you please send me a copy of the wiring diagram, and any other supporting pictures and any notes to help me understand your power system. I have a '55 Chevy 3100 Big Window and plan to have about 20 fuses and 14-16 relays on a single power distribution center panel placed behind the passenger’s seat, under the driver’s seat or under the dash -- still debating. I am trying to gather as much power distribution diagrams and information as I can before making the decision to buy an aftermarket package with so many short comings or build a custom system that suits my power requirements. I fast tracked it these past few months and just did alot of stuff I would do differently with more time.... Just feels like my time (overall) is running out.
But hopefully I have 'time' to do little side projects along the way now thats it running and going down the road and I can do 'special stuff' now to detail it. (Like maybe change out the Home Depot House Carpet for Real LMC Overpriced car carpet!!! lol) - My carpet job cost $13 for materials. And I even had a choice of Black or Gray! Thanks Dave!

I took it for a little shakedown cruise to my friends shop for some weekend work. We did all the rear end metal to get the bed closed in. It came out real nice. Ill post some pics soon of it all.

Ok well as promised here are the pics of the rear metal (14ga steel) that was cut and placed and finished off in the bed. From my design using the cardboard (from Post #611) we put it all together...
Came out pretty dang good, very smooth and clean looking. Just have to paint it all now. Added a couple hundred pounds to the rear end which it needed.... to keep that rubber turning! The center portion opens up and gives access to the fuel pump, filter, lines, brake psi switch, pan-hard bar adjustments, 4-link adjustments, shock adjust, rear member, u-joints and everything from the top side. There is no hinge or anything you can see. Its 4 bolts and the cover comes off. Nice work by my friend at JLC Fabrication -West Sacramento, CA and also slammed57 for the battery cover - it just looks great man!!!! Thanks again. Lookin BADA$$

Well fixed a few more bugs... and few more to go... Poor Dan In Pasadena... I feel for the guy with all the problems hes having, but it aint even started yet!
So the fuel tank was leaking from a crummy fitting I thought I could save a few dollars on... NOPE! -- had to buy a new Areoquip AN fitting that the pipe threads actually seal to one another... and replaced it on the bottom of a full gas tank.... Did I mention I hate working with fuel? --- an while I was at it I had to change the fuel gauge sender as it wasnt working either, the one that came in the tank wasnt the same OHM as the one that came with the gauge. Out with the old and in with the new... The rear end was leaking again, this time out the bottom. I checked the torque on the 3rd member nuts and they were loose... re-torqued and hope that does the trick. Hope that carrier is strong enough for the drivetrain! Ok so maybe now it will stop leaking like a Harley everywhere I go.... Still a few more things to do. Oh and I started a NEW PROJECT.....

Hello Gentlemen!!! ---
been awhile since I been on here so figured I'd check in. Truck has been driving and taking it locally to some shows in town, but Im having an overheating problem, was running no t-stat and have since put in a 160F stat to try and fix it. but still getting up to 200+ and doesnt level out. This truck is insane... I'd sure like to do something with it, but Ive kinda lost some interest in it. Still needs some finishing touches on the interior, I gave up on the keyless security ignition system as the China rep gave up on me understanding cantonese... and some kind of english-engineering-jibberish he was speaking to me. The rear tires are so useless I cant get the power onto the ground, maybe thats a good thing cause I dont have anyway to put wheelie bars on the back, but if it ever goes to the track it will need BIG TIRE SLICKS to get down the track. I did get my boat connected up to it and took it for a little tow... which is what its orignal intent was suppose to be for... a '57 towing a '75.... just worked out right! So just dont know, about ready to pull the 540 and drop in a 327 and be done with it! Wanna drive this thing all over the place!!!!
