Re: Vintage picture thread

Regarding the photo in post by SKT, I can make out the wording on the big red signage on the right hand side of the street, House of Bargains. That may help in determining where it may be. Also note the "Holiday" decorations so would suggest maybe around Thanksgiving or Christmas. To me it really looks like it may be a Texas town.

I was looking at that and wondering why the master cylinder was on the right side! I looked again, yes, it's right hand drive.

I thought "WA" was Washington state.

OK, I get it. Flipped slide pics.

I noticed that too when my mom sent me them today too. She’s going to call her cousin since they are prints from slides to see if she can get them redone. Also, the slides had a blue haze so color is a bit off.

Great photos bozly, these are the best type, when new, especially under the hood shots. Lot can be learned like the battery type and hood hinge finish. Engine paint color confirms most factory photos, original engine paint was more reddish up to '72. There was a paint formula change to more orangish '73-'76.

According to a Google photo search it's 2nd street Casper Wyoming.

Note how GMC on the top back car carrier still has argent wheels and argent hubcaps while the Chevy has the newer white hubcaps. I'm guessing that this photo was taken during mid year '69, when the transition from argent to white painted hubcaps took place. Also, note how some wheels on Chevys appear to be white and others appear to be argent. Another reason on why '69 paint rules are so baffling.
