Right now I'm leaning toward a light metalic blue that chevelle's were painted in the mid 60s although that may change. Quote:

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Kim, I am glade to see you are making progress, thank you for your comments on my project. I see you are using a dry guide coat are you wet or dry sanding and can you do both?

Not sure how wet sanding would work with the dry guide coat. It may just rinse it off. As you can tell I'm new at this part of the build. It isn't the most fun part of the build but it keeps me out of trouble. Waiting for the weather to get a little warmer so I can get back at it. Kim |

Another point about block sanding that can lead to mistakes is this. Let the sand paper do the work. In other words don't muscle and push down hard while sanding. Just let the black guide across the panel in an x pattern. Applying pressure will lead to problems. Last edited by Kabwe; 01-06-2015 at 12:58 PM. |

You always have great info on how to do this stuff. The cold weather kept me from wanting to spray any epoxy so it slowed my progress some. How's your truck coming? Kim |

Re: My 57 Pro Street
WOW - new to the board and going through build threads and this one just ate up a good few hours reading through. Amazing the focus on these builds my attention span is way to short.
Awesome work excited to see the final product!! |

That's the color. I think it was called Maliblue.

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Another "I just found this thread and read through the whole thing" post. I am very impressed with some of the subtle (and not so subtle) mods that you chose to make and have taken away plenty of ideas for my own build. That hood sectioning mod blew me away!
One question I have though, what is this tool for? You said you made it when you were filling holes in the cab. My only guess would be you cover the hole with the copper section and weld against it helping you fill in the hole? Am I even remotely close? haha Looking forward to seeing the truck in paint. Keep up the good work! Trevor. |

Re: My 57 Pro Street
Thats a great tool idea Kim, you should patent it.... I tried to have my wife be my backup aluminum plate holder while doing my cab holes.... "sparks are flying everywhere!!!" she says.... I told her thats welding!
She would have gladly bought me one of your tools!!!! lol

Re: My 57 Pro Street
How you're doin' Kim?
Any updates on your build? A few little pics of what you're at right now would be very nice, even if you think it isn't interesting... Thank you!
