Well I'm going to go against the norm and say black, I know gray is classic but I'm in the minority and prefer black centered wheels. Check out Showwheel Streeters they are around the same price as Boss 338's but have a really nice deep lip that is just sick looking. Here is a picture of some black 20's on a El Camino.

Heres my truck with some black rims. (Panthers)I think if it didn't have some black details on it like the El Camino has the black stripes and all, that the black would't work so well with red. Black and red always looks good imo. But don't just have black wheels. Thats not good imo.

Shawno, your truck is looking great. I like the black and chrome 338's myself, the colors just gives the wheel a deeper look and really make the lip stand out vs the grey and chrome 338's because the colors contrast too much in my opinion. That's what I'm going with is the black and chrome when I get to that point. The Ridlers and Rocket Boosters are also similar to the 338's.

Re: Shawno72's long overdue 68 daily driver build thread

I vote chrome all over! But that's my choice. If I had to choose for you, given only those two choices, I would say black. I normally hate black wheels, but it would tie in with your interior colors nicely. Unless you're planning on changing your interior colors.

I've been reading too many magazines and watching too many tv shows with car designers, so feel free to ignore my comments if you don't like my answer.

Those free wheels don't look bad. You might want more sidewall on those tires though.

If you find free gray ones like Ol Blue suggested, try those too for comparison. Maybe a side by side?
