Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*
Thanks guys. I'm diggin it too. Anyone notice the 69-72 lower trim with the 68 clip? Not sure I've seen that done before. I'm doing it because 1) I don't want to buy 67-68 side trim, and 2) I need it there to make the separation in paint colors. What colors? Well I still have time to waver all over the place on that but right now I'm leaning toward Red/White...
On the tails, yes that is still planned. I just wanted to get it back together and driving before I start slicing again. The quarter windows are new. They cannot cut tempered glass (or weren't willing to). I made a template and had new ones cut/tempered. Cost only $180 for the pair. The new rubbers cost almost as much as the glass at $145/pr TVBlazer, that was cool for us both to be in the same mag from the same board. I can't wait till mine is as complete as yours. Cool story on yours too. That's a keeper |

Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*
The truck tail sections had to be "rescued" from a truck bed. They'll be treated well on the back of this
Man I need a digital video cam. Today when I moved it back into the shop I rev'ed it a bit and OH MAN does it sound good!!! No I have not been driving it. Just moved it out for some fresh air and back in. Now it's ready for some major upgrades. I wanted to drive it before winter but the rain will be here tomorrow... I gotta let you guys hear this thing though. |

Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*
Heh, ya sorry guys I've got a few items I'm waiting on, started another class, and had to tinker with the clown car a bit lately. It's all dialed now so next week should be a good one for some Tahoe progress.

OK so now what are the plans for the door it self? Are you just going to run it back wards? Should be sweet with clamshell doors!

Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*
No worries OB
BBO, it started flaking before I even drove it It took more time to take it off than to put it on... I'm going to wait for the 13's to die and I'll get some 15" steelies and real WWW's. If nothing else the excersize convinced me that it needs them. |

Playing with spare doors. Sorry the iPhone doesn't take great pics in low-light. I'll have to switch back to the real camera. This is the door I got from CG via Brad:
Tracing the window frame to make a template: Corners will swap angles for use on the other side of the truck: |

With the template flipped (Porsche Posters make good template material; Thanks Britain) and the corners welded up. Still needs the lower 6" modified to fit in the door:
To do that I moved the straight piece from the back to the front and used a curved piece from a truck door: |

Looking good, so are you still going reverse? Also did you add and subtract from the two side posts for the different lengths yet? If memory serves it is right about 1/2" or so.

Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*
He's making a 4th door, like Rokcrln did. To do that you need a mirror image of the back door on the passenger side, and since they never made a back door for the driver's side...
