Thanks guys! It was purchased here new in Ocala, FL. I bought from a little old lady who was 2nd owner. All original paint too! Has the original 305 which runs like crap. I have a 6.0 truck motor that will eventually go in it. The inside of the bed is perfect. I don't think it ever hauled anything. Not a scratch or dent.

Wow, great find - what a clean platform to start with!

Where/how did you find it for sale?

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

Joe69 ...
Is that an orange trim stripe around your truck? We had one with an orange trim stripe on a red/white truck like that on our used car lot when i was a teenager in the mid-80s and I loved it.
I think that's one of the reasons I love the squares so much is because of all the different ones I drove off our lot in high school. Never owned a car in all those years, just drove something off the lot.

These are the ones that I can vividly remember driving when I was a kid:
1975 3/4-ton 4-door Camper Special - Green (My grandfather bought it brand new)
1986 3/4-ton Custom Deluxe - Maroon
1984 3/4-ton Step-side - White
1980 C10 Short bed - Gold/Brown
1979 Short Bed 4x4 - Red
1982 C10 Long bed - Brown/Tan
1980 C10 Long bed - Green/Green
And the first one I ever owned/paid for myself: 1979 C10 305/3-speed on column - Maroon

Looking at all these pics brings back a ton of memories. Thanks to everyone for sharing.

It was actually sitting outside of a local mechanic shop that did its regular service. I braked so hard I almost caused an accident to turn around and see how I could buy it. LOL
The trans was shifting weirdly and the mechanic had to talk the lady into selling it since it needed a rebuild and she rarely drove it.

Yes, the stripe on the truck has orange in it. I think I have seen the orange on some other color trucks too. I dont plan on repainting it currently, but if I ever do I will make sure I can replicate the original stripe!

Thanks for sharing the back story - always find it interesting how these clean trucks are found.

Don't blame you for nearly causing an accident trying to get in there. You've done a great job w/ it too. The stance, wheels and tires look great!

^ Great backstory - always neat to hear the details on these well preserved trucks.

Thanks for sharing and congrats on your purchase - certainly a beautiful truck!

Loving those 15x10 rally's too.

This is my dads truck
1977 with Factory Paint
Scoggins Dickey Crate engine with low low miles
Cold AC
All new Drivetrain.
5''rear 3''front drop
18'' wheels
This is the nicest original paint truck I know of.
I have owned 40 or 50 of these trucks in the past, and this one is super nice
