Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Yes...in the C-10 and C-20 trucks in 64 the 153 4 cylinder was an option...believe me my mouth was on the floor when I saw that. lol I really am not sure on the differences between the 230's...differences in carbs...or exhaust manifold size...not sure...only a 5 hp difference between them.

Well I got my inner and outer rocker panels today . Just waiting to hear back from the Sandblasters on a cost for the cab. Once that has been done I can get on with the welding .

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Researched the type of headlights I placed in my 1964 truck, decided they will fall closely in the parameters of the original and be slightly brighter.
Put a coat of white paint on one hubcap to check out the coverage. Decided to put three coats of white or more, until I can get a fairly smooth back ground. Cleaned some of the rubber seals around the windows with a cleaner restorer. Checked out the engine compartment to see how they will remove the engine Tuesday hopefully. This is what it currently looks like. It's a beauty imho. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
Are those brand new vent windows, or did you rebuild you old ones? If they are new, where did you get them and are you pleased with the quality? I'm considering new vent windows for mine eventually.
Nice looking truck by the way.

Worked on the bed for a while and got about half of the bolts in place thanks to my skinny 17 daughter who can fit under the truck!

Dressed off the 1960 rims with the new caps. Yes, I know they are the '59 model year but GMC used the '59 when they rolled her out the first 1/2 years. I wonder why.
I was thinking about repainting them the blue on the truck.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
What did i do to my truck today? I SOLD IT!!!! crazy but i have always had old trucks. and was thinking i want an old car. so i have been looking at the usual places-- e-bay, craigslist. i go to the store yesterday and this young guy pulls up next to me and asks if i want to sell my truck. i say sure he says how much and i tell him a slightly bloated price and then the haggling starts. we decide on a price 500 less than i said. we go to my house to do pink slip thing and he sets out 75 one hundred dollar bills!!!!!! and he had more lrft! turns out he has a custom hotrod shop and was looking for a shop truck. BUT don,t worry i am going to buy a burb. i figure it is a common place between a car and a truck

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.
New carpet from brothers arrived today. I laid it up inside the truck loosely fit it into place and I figure it needs to relax in place for 24 hours before I attempt on installing it. Is suppose to tuck up under the firewall factory pad or just go over top of it?

That stance is KILLER! What size tires? What size wheels? What brand wheels? What backspacing?
