Dale, these lights came from http://www.e-conolight.com/?&cid=pai...FQyNaQodfwALQw and they have provided really good service. One light had a problem with the two outer bulbs lighting and the company had a new ballast to me in two days. Yes, Dave did a nice job on the fill pipe and last we connected he was working on a vent. He has been providing extraordinarily great service! Quote:

Love what you've done so far ... I didn't see this mentioned but have you thought of triangle supports UNDER the lower mounts? Looks like a lot of pressure will be hanging on those pieces despite you weld work - which looks great... Just ask'n.

Thanks r46. Always appreciate your thoughts and I still have the 99r46 boxes on the shelf. Yes I agree about the mounts and will be gusseting underneath both of them.

Jim and Mark, thanks for the encouragement!
Kees, glad I could help out. Isn't the technology that allows us in different parts of the world to help each other pretty amazing? Yep, I keep plugging along steadily though slowly. |

Re: 48 Burb, bagged, 5.3, 20 year wait
Thanks Lower, I am not near as fast as you or many of the guys here.
I get "fabrication block" and I stare at something for a long time before I figure out what might work. It took me most of a day to put the upper tank stands together. And they still need strap hangers and tank stops to keep the tank from moving fore and aft. That will probably take me at least half a day. All ok as it keeps me off the golf courses....like that would really happen. Grandsons like to play with scooters in the shop too. Good times! |

Here are a few pics of the 88 Dually for you. I bought this one from the original owner who mostly had it in his garage in Las Vegas. He and his wife retired, moved back here to a neighboring place and I bought it. He wanted to make sure I had indoor storage for it before he would sell it to me. Original, rust free, 95k miles and a bit dusty as I use it in nice weather. It is a San Karr conversion which was all the rage in the 1980's. |

Re: 48 Burb, bagged, 5.3, 20 year wait
Valarious...way ok! It is all about our passion for these trucks. And because of that I've met some great folks through here.
Thanks Shannon, glad you are back on yours. Thanks Brad, maybe this season we can catch a cruise in over in Champaign. Oh, and I have a hankering for a wagon now. I understand all the cool kids are getting them! Jim, thanks for checking in and it was very good to talk with you too. We will meet up sometime! Hey Tim..TP Auto...are you doing ok? Today on my way to Indy for a meeting I saw this Burb. Had to check it out. It was on its way from Oklahoma to Indianapolis. Researching brakes now and starting to tire of exhaust shopping. It's exhausting... |

Re: 48 Burb, bagged, 5.3, 20 year wait
Its always fun when you can combined work with car stuff/parts pick ups. I used to work for a company in IL and I hauled parts many times from MI to IL on my work travels. The best part was i got paid for mileage from the company and I made $ on sell crap. Win win win.
