Sorry guys I have not been on in a while to post any new stuff. Been riding dirt bikes a lot lately (My other main hobby!), and attending a couple of recent shows. I have some upcoming plans for the truck. Going to be working on the sway bar for the front, that should be a cool project. Eventually I will be getting on the interior and getting it all ship shape.

I should be posting some new stuff fairly soon. Below is a pic from the last show I attended.

What are you riding? I stay off the dirt bikes and stick to the ATVs anymore. I ride a YFZ450 and my boy is on a YFZ450R. We mostly ride at the sand dunes down in Idaho but occasionally sneak down to southern California as well.

I stay away from ATV's. They can be the hammer to the nail (they being the hammer and me being the nail...)more often than not. Seems as if they like to attack their owners way too often on hill climbs and such... I ride Honda's, CR250R and a CRF450X. As far as the sleeper project goes, not much has been done since the last posting on it other than getting the rear window in. I want to wrap it if I keep it long term. I put it back on the truck just to make the purist mad at these shows. These guys either like it or hate it, and to listen to their comments is just hilarious! Glad there are no opinions when it comes to this portion of my truck!!!

75Dually has a new shop dog... Er Fox! Opened up the shop tonight and this Fox was standing on my trailer. He made no move to run so I grabbed my phone and snapped a bunch of shots. He told me he had to split, but said he would watch over the truck anytime I needed... Yeah one cool shop Fox!

Man, he's as big as a Texas deer! Fox are very stealthy and will stare you down with no care in the world until you make a move then they're gone. Haha Unfortunately I've seen several hit on the roads up here lately.

This particular fox has been around this neighborhood for quite some time I'm finding out. So he's cool and can hang out if he wants, just as long as he/she keeps the rodent population under control!

Sorry for not posting in a long time, but it has been too hot in the shop lately. However tonight I finally got all the AC hoses and the new accumulator installed. Next stop is to get it evacuated and filled with new freon. I guess this means I need to get the rest of the ducting done in the cab. I'm ready for this system to blow ice!

Nice vid! Does the blue and silver one with the gn haul a lot? The paint looks flawless on it. Nice work on the ac. That will make it nicer to drive. I need to do that on my 72 too. Haha

The blue and silver truck is the same truck as the blue and black with the car hauler on it.

Kept saying that I needed to get the AC done, but it kept getting pushed back. So I finally got it done, the interior still needs all the ducting done, and some of that it going to take some time so it comes out right. Can't hurry that work or else it comes out looking no Bueno!

That is probably my favorite square dually. I love the rear suicide doors and how the metal trim is airbrushed on.

Sorry guys I've been really lax on posting anything for quite a while, work has just been super busy, and that helps keep the roof over our heads and the parts flowing to the shop!

I do have some upcoming mods and I need to finish several small projects.

A vinyl wrap update. Houston we were having a small problem! The hood was having some lifting issues. Actually what happened was the ridge that goes down both sides of the hood I was seeing a lot of lifting in the valley (pic below). I talked with Vvivid Vinyl and it turned out I post heated that area too much. So it was my installation error. Remember I don't do this for a living and this was my first time. This was an experiment from the get go.

So I ordered a replacement piece and tonight when it starts to cool down I will get the new piece installed. Taking off the old piece took no time at all. At first I was trying to take it off in one big sheet, but because I did a good job getting 99% of it laid down right there was a lot of tension pulling it back off. So what I did was take a very sharp razor and made light cuts, making sure to not get into the primer below, and cut it up into smaller sections. This was the trick for getting everything off much easier. For those of you who asked about doing this over the primer, it was untouched, there was zero damage to it, and it did not disturb the primer in any way when I pealed it off. Plus this product left no residue on the primer, so I am sold on it. I was so thankful on that point! So I will wipe down the surface, make sure it is perfectly clean, and install the replacement piece the same way (except where I messed up the first time!).

I hope to post those pics either late tonight or early tomorrow. Like I said when I started this truck I was going to show the good and the bad. I'm just like all of you out there I mess stuff up, and on this blog I have tried to show what I did and how I did it so we can all learn and make this a better hobby.

Thanks for sharing that. I'd like to do a test piece up here and drive it around in the winter to see how it does just out of curiosity. The vinyl sure is a cheaper option than a repaint as you know.

Actually I would like you to do that. The radical difference between IA winters verses TX winters would be very interesting to know how it holds up. Do the lower part of a front fender or maybe the hood. Either way I bet it holds up super, this stuff is really tough.

Take some pics for us and log what your results are. This way we all learn the do's and don'ts.

I'm actually considering doing my 76 if I can get it done to drive in the winter is the big question. Worst case scenario, I will do the fenders on my 95 F350 and see how it goes.

I was wondering if it would leave any glue residue when peeled, so thanks for the updates. I passed through your part of the world but didn't have your contact information and didn't see your truck cruisin' around. The navigation unit took us off the interstate and down what seemed like a part of town that could get exciting every now and then. On the way back I had a sleeper cab that my brother gave me for my 87 R2500.

So I finally got the hood redone, well not 100%... It took a long time to get the replacement vinyl piece. The first go around USPS decided that I did not need it in a perfect delivery tube, so they played baseball with it and delivered the remnants. So order number 2, and that got here in a lot better shape than order number 1...

However I'm going to have to redo this once again!!! I got some dirt under the vinyl while doing the install. Totally my fault! I was not following my own advice and making sure the area was surgically clean. So I finished the install anyways just so I can drive it around town until the replacement vinyl comes in. Live and learn folks, live and learn!
