Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

Did a little more assembly on my 270 this am. Later today I'll be painting the bell housing and cleaning up a few more parts. Once motor and tranny are done I'll be re-working the engine compartment.

Cleaned and painted rear bumper brackets. Changed oil in wifes car (learning experience for grandson), FWIW local NAPA has a special 5 qts oil and silver filter for $20.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

Painted more bed sections, wet sanded and worked on bed sides. Mounted tires on rims and installed.I also bought an externally mounted electric choke assembly for my qjet. I had to fabricate a bracket, still making final adjustments.

Do you have a part number for the electric choke? I would like to see a pic of your mounting bracket.

The paint job looks good.

Disassembly of speedo and gauges. The face plaes are unreadable. See pix. Any suggestions on where I could buy new miles wheel numbers and metal face plates?

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

I bought me an original bench seat from a 48 to fit in my 49.........and I found it in the U.K.!!!!
These seats are as rare as chicken teeth over here.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

Spent a week getting my truck lightly bolted together and moveing under it's own power..... just enough to tease me into dreaming of the day it's driving down the road complete.
only punched the gas once to check out what it has for motivation
Then I drove it onto a trailer and towed it out to my buddies place for final body work and paint ... just a little bit closer to being finaly done

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

I cut the parts to make the floor cross sills and started on the fixture. then had a mishap with the sander and ended up with 5 stitches.
