Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build
Alright looks like ill be waiting on the long trip for now so in the meantime I installed another heat sleeve to keep my gas line from the pump to my carb cool seems to be solving the vapor lock issue -praying here- tonight ill be replacing the in line fuel filter up top before the carb since it was apart of the old motor and the new ones break in.
As for the weekend I'm going to run into town and see if I can't get my kickdown and throttle linkage working how they should be so that maybe I can finally do a and get the tires and front suspension all checked out since I've neglected that and don't feel like doing it myself in this god awful heat Gonna be returning my Doug tho rely headers as I'm in much more dire need of an a/c and heater so ill start paying off my bill there and find the best compressor I can so that I can mark that off the to-do list this year.. Only about three-four more car shows I wanna hit this year so gotta get rolling soon Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build
Well nothing accomplished over the weekend oh well I did however drive from 11-1pm Saturday doing these errands and no matter what freeway or city she never cut out sputtered or stalled. She held her quick response and even put a couple high tension runs to attempt to make her fail and she passed with flying colors so I'm very confident that wherever I go she'll be more than ready for the task so I'm proud of that
In other news the Del Rio car show is coming up so I already posted that in the regions section for here in central CA. Gonna be a lot of fun check it out.. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=590513 Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build
Boy I've sure gone quiet lately on here just really hasn't been much to update. I did however have a meltdown with my rear drum brakes when trying to fix them myself with my father and had to just take her to my trusted local shop and have them take care of the whole system so thanks to CITY TIRE SALES in Modesto, Ca I'm braking like a new vette with new pads and a solid pedal. So I gotta give a great shout out to them for all the help they've given me in my years working on my truck. Great service great, quality, great people.
Other than that she's been on the road everyday not missing a beat and I couldn't be happier here's some patriotic shots from yesterday that I'd like to share never forget.. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build
Well went ahead and pulled all my plugs this morning and found that they've been burning very clean a nice tanish color to them all and I'm pretty happy about that did the rest of the checkups and everything seems to be checking out just fine so I'm a happy camper with that! think my next event is going to be the c/10 Bash this October and that should conclude most of my year. Kinda miss the deadlines we had for this truck when getting it ready now that shes all cleaned up it's just maintenance till i get money for new toys to add

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build
Little late of an update but I had an absolute blast up at the show. Left my house in Turlock at 4:20 am sharp to be at the chevron gas station off hopyard rd. at 5:45 am. Made the trip with flying colors Newtype really loves that 70mph average on the freeway she even got better mileage too probably 12 maybe even 13 mpg so I'm proud there. She did have a hiccup getting restarted at the gas station had to have KevsClassics tap the starter to persuade her to go. So looking for a heat shield and that's about it. Gonna leave some pictures here for everyone to enjoy.

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build
Okay so I took my heater box out of my truck so I could get ready to put my vintage air gen IV kit in. Needless to say I haven't put it in yet so my questions are.. Is there a thread for the step by step install of one of these kits and can I install most of mine to run just the heater for now??

Re: 1972 Chevy p/u NewType Build
At the temps we're having right now you took your heater out....brrrrrrrrrr.....I don't know about the thread question but I would imagine there is a way to just have the heater for now.
