Re: LFD's low buck truck build!
That looks great Rokcrln! Very nice job. I am amazed that you had the discipline to keep track of the hours and the money. I try to forget that kind of info. Just curious. How many trucks have you completed and how many do you think you do in a year cause it seems like every few months you are starting a new truck and finishing it before I am even done with my single build. Thats so not fair. Keep up the great work

Re: LFD's low buck truck build!
I just stared at the picture of the rear for a minute or two... The tailgate sure would look sweet with CHEVROLET in white to match the roof....... Looks good either way though. You've done some exceptional work!

Re: LFD's low buck truck build!
Just curious, do those tires have white letters on the other side? because I think it would look better in this case if they were showing. I have the black letters out on mine, but they are aluminum wheels, so it's a different look. I just think the black walls and plain rallyes are detracting from the look of a very nicely done truck. JM2 pennies.
I also agree with Big J. paint the tailgate letters.

Re: LFD's low buck truck build!
I'd bet money that the tailgate letter thing is either on the to do list or the maybe list or already been marked off totally list

Re: LFD's low buck truck build!
Well no progress on my end today but thanks to Rainbow glass the windows are getting installed. Should be all finished some time Sunday. I asked them what they use for caulking to help prevent water from getting in as we all know happens in these trucks. He use's a 3M product that he places in the window rubber first then installs the the rubber and glass so the caulking strip starts off inside and gets pushed out as needed. He says by putting it on the window frame first it tends to just get pushed out as you are setting the window and does not seal as well. He adds another type of gun caulking in the corners and factory seam areas after the glass is set using their pry tools for access.
He was very happy with the fitment of both the rubber and SS trim as he has seen some real poor quality in his days. The rear window was sitting on a stand in back with the trim in stalled as well and it also fit great. I am having them do the door glass as well since I did not have much luck witrh getting the lower sash set right so the windows would operate how I wanted them to. He said the biggest problem that he see's is that people use a mallot to set the sash and they bend the roller chanel causing tight spots during operation. He showed me his fancy tool that gets the job done for him and from the look of the end I would say he has used it a few times. I can't wait to see it all finished up when I go to pick it up Sunday. I think I have found my new glass shop! I will let you know what it cost's when I get home with the truck. I also had a package on the portch when I got home from getting a few pic's. It is the seat heaters I ordered yesterday from summit racing. I thought when I am having the seat made it might be a good time to throw these in. I got a set for both the drivers and passenger side, they were $99 a set and have a two position setting for the back or both the back and butt. I am still waiting for my Cruise control kit to show up Kevin LFD Inc. |
