My 65 rear end had a 4.10 also, but I'm running a 72 rearend now. I believe it had a 3.08. I wanted a posi so everything got replaced. I could be wrong and more than likely I am, but I think 3.73 and up uses the same carrier (4 series??) Below 3.73 is a 3 series (I might have the series reversed). I don't think your carrier will work with a 3.42. I bought all of my stuff from Sadler Powertrain in Texas. He's on ebay and very helpful. I told him what trans, rearend, and tire sizes I was running and what RPM I wanted to be on the highway.

I called them and he recommended that I didn't run that pump on a performance motor. He suggested that I run the 10553 pump. He said the M-55 pumps are prone to breaking. the DP90 sprayed really good, my buddy told me to spray it on first with like a wrinkle affect for the second coat to adhear to it good, then I just had to turn down the air. I was surprised how well I got it. only second time I've sprayed paint this way, and the first time. lets just say fish eyes everywhere.

Did you degrease your frame prior to spraying. One thing to remember, never have or use an silicone anywhere around where your spraying paint. So if you detail a car in the driveway and you use silicone for any reason it will create alot of problems.

I've been lucky to have experienced people around to ask questions. But I've learned the most from my mistakes. Mistakes suck and cost money and time, but very educational.

Primed the cab for the last time I hope. Plus primed a few small parts.

The hardest thing to sand is the roof inside the cab. It sure is tiring. Alan do you wet sand inside the cab also?

I am goin to weld that seam up on the inside of the cab when I do my big window conversion i think.

when I sprayed my s10 bed I didn't degreese it, I never painted before and didn't know what I was doing, I just scrached it up, and went to town. The frame I sandblasted, and used a wax degreeser. I still haven't fixed the s10 bed yet, but it's my beater. I may have to bring my cab to ya to get it fixed, lots of rust outs.

Thanks Ernest, I don't think I will wet sand anything on the cab. I don't want any moisture around it until get it painted and put body wax in the rockers and any other hidden places. I normally wet sand everything.

It was a thought, but decided not too. I might have a head liner someday

I'm guessing you got fish eyes on the first coat. The way I cover up fish eyes is too let it tack good then move the gun back and keep dusting paint over the affected areas. Let it tack between dustings. eventually it usually locks down the fish eyesand fills a little. Then hammer the second coat. There may be other opinions, but this works most of the time. Then after spraying you can dob a little paint in the fish eyes to fill some more. On a body panel the dobs will have to be color sanded. Just my .02
