I went with custom auto air for a couple of reasons my brother in law had already installed one in his 69 camaro and my best friend installed one in his 72 camaro they have not had any issues so i figured it would be a good choice the other reason was that they are located in Tampa florida which is roughly 3 1/2 hours from where I live so in case of any issues it is cose enough to deal with in person if i had to.

I have all the fittings, brake lines and tools ready to change the proportioning valve and my manual master cylinder. Couple of issues I am already running into first one the truck is so high since it is on jack stands I cant reach comfortably the inner bolt of the old master, the other one is trying to do it by my self with my truck being finished in the engine compartment I do not feel comfortable climbing all over the engine compartment and scratching something specialy the inner fenders. So I decided to just stop and I will have one of my techs come to the house tomorrow and hopefuly we can change the necessary parts, make new lines and bleed the system.

Just be careful with the brake fluid.
It loves to eat your paint.
I would cover everything that you don't want damaged.

DOT 5 Silicone brake fluid won't harm your paint.

My fear exactly!!! I will bring wraping plastic that we use in my parts dept and cover the heck out of everything...

Been there done that and unfortunately didn't know Al when I lived a couple miles from him! I donated big time to the cheap real estate so Keith you would also make me happy if you bought in!

Well tonight one of my techs and I decided to swap out the master cilynder and make two new brake lines. Taking off the master took maybe 15 minutes not bad at all. Now making the new lines that consumed a couple of hours it is kind of a pain but we managed to make them. Here are a few picts of the progress I still have the proportioning valve to install in the frame then bleeding all four corners.

I ordered some nice clamps to tie both lines together that Keith lolife told me about once I get them and button the lines securely I am painting them line I did the ones I had there before.

Don't worry brother I know you are always there for me.

That flaring kit you loaned me worked awesome. I bend the lines the best I could and ran them. Johnny tied them all up it is time consuming and between some trips to the auto parts for fittings was not too bad.

How does that master work for you? I cave power brakes in the burb an was actually thinking of going this route to clean up the firewall some more. I just think my truck would be too big and heavy for manual brakes.

Are you kidding this truck is awesome. Don't sell yourself short. YouR paint is nicer then mine. I bought my truck with the paint on it and built it from there. You went the whole 9 yards. Truck is great keep it up.

I really like the look of just the MC w/o the booster, really cleans up the firewall. I have almost talked myself into this also. Looks great!

Juan I have been driving this truck with manual brakes for three years and the brakes were hard and you really have to press on them but they stop. I am looking forward to driving it now with four wheel disc and this master cylinder and I am hoping that it will not be as hard as the stock set up was. I really like the clean look of this set up.

Lolife Keith used them in his build and they really clean up the lnes and hold them in place nicely.

this morning I spent a little time recleaning everything that I could not see last night and as VA72C10 suggested I painted the lines and I must say they definetly look better..

tonight I am going to retighten all the fittings as I saw some brake fluid by the crossmember and I am sure that I am going to have some leaks here and there. So I guess let the real fun begin chasing leaks.
