Thanks and it does. I would have brought the stuff back, but it's been almost 2 years now. It's really not that $, I'll just but the last few boxes in person and make sure they're all the same. I'll need 4 new corners for the shed and some more J Channel anyway.

I'm so thankful the color was "new" when I did my house. All of the boxes for the house were the lightest backing color. My best guess is they've been making improvements on it to make the color last longer.

Again, if you stack them on top of each other I can't tell any color difference, but when they're overlapped side by side something looks off...

I took little man to his first car show this weekend, a small cars and coffee. He did really well. He seems to be fine around random people and places.

The weather sucked. Rained a bunch. I figured I'd take the little time I had and finish swapping out the siding I wasn't happy with (color match), pressure wash the side, and install the shutters to clear up a little floor space. I like it.

I'm not painting the doors white until I have my pavers down, otherwise they'll just get stained orange (clay) over and over.

My parents came down for the week and my dad brought his Mahindra.

We greatly cut back the banks and flattened them in front of the driveway and in the back of the shop.

The driveway bank used to start right at the edge of the driveway, I'll now have +/-4' of flat grass area next to the driveway and a slope I can actually mow.

In the back we widened the flat area to 12', widened the flat area next to the rear door to almost 20' and sloped the hill to be mowable.

We then widened/cut out the hill next to the shop to be +/-5.5'

I got the silt fence up as it will be a while before I can get to building the actual wall.

The original plan was to dig a 2'x6" trench for the wall and fill it with gravel... but with as tight as it was next to the shop, and the fact that over half of the area next to the shop is solid rock that far down (literally, lots and lots of rock), we decided to undercut the whole thing 3" below the shop's foundation and fill the whole thing with stone and I'll pour a small footing for the wall instead.

Up next is pressure washing all of the tractor tire rub marks off the wall (oops - at least the tires was lower than the window height!) and pressure washing all the block to paint it with drylok.

For the first time in 2 years the inside wall block on that side is finally drying out.

I bought all of the trench drain to install. I picked out a couple samples for pavers.

After the block is painted I think I'm going to finish the siding. I can only reach the first +/-6' and I don't want to do another 7' in height worth of 52' of siding on a ladder. I realized I won't be able to fit my scaffold if I start the wall.... so siding is next, at least the shop will "appear" to be done-ish.

Not quite sure yet... but the face of the wall will be 3.5-4' away from the shop, probably end up with 4'.

Couple final pics... we got old Redford running again and put her to work. Needed a full tune up, plugs, wires, cap/rotor/points. I also rewired it so it was less of a fire hazard. I also ordered a correct harness for it, a new carb, and we managed to smoke the starter. Pulled the starter apart and it was caked with rust.... I also discovered the fuel cut off switch doesn't work and lost a couple gallons of gas...

But she runs fantastic.

He was a terrible sleeper the first 8-ish months.

Looks like my silt fencing will be tested over the next week, supposed to get quite a bit of rain. We got quite a bit last night and it looked pretty good this morning. I just need it to keep my gravel kinda clean so when I put the siding up it doesn't get clay staining when it rains. PIA to clean off.

Haven't been able to do crap in weeks.

It's also rained this whole week (and quite a bit this path month including some serious downpours) and absolutely poured today... happy to say my erosion control and stone are working.

It's nice to see the slopes are holding steady (because they're mostly cut back to rock now...)

And proof why I need the trench drain. Clay soil just flat out sucks for infiltration. If the rain stops, it will drain in a day or so, but I don't ever want standing water.

I didn't want to hear that. You get attached to people you have never met through a forum and it feels like you know them. I've followed his house remodel, then the garage build, and then the birth of his son. He had so much to live for and it breaks my heart that he lost his battle with cancer. I can also identify with some of the things he wrote about as I have been through some of them too. About seven years ago I was told that I had cancer. I asked the doctor how long did he think I might live and he said maybe four to five years. Fortunately I got into a clinical trial at the cancer treatment center at Emory University Hospital, and obviously I have outlived his estimate. There were times during the treatments that I felt worse than I ever thought was possible, and I definitely don't have the strength and energy that I had before, but I was able to celebrate my 80th birthday last August and I'm thankful for that. One thing Jesse said was that you don't worry about your truck, your tools, your house, or the other things that you love when you are thinking that you might not have long to live. Your wife, family, and friends become a lot more precious to you. It's sad that bad things happen to good people.
