Re: My 52 GMC Build
Thanks Jim we really enjoyed the drive and day.
Ya I may have had that one in the bag the second I drove in. Funny thing tho, nobody with a car there even knew there where awards.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
While I was in Woodstock Sunday we stopped in at one of the fire halls to try and get a picture of when my truck was a 5 ton fire truck back in '52. I gave my info to the fire chef and he was going to forward it off to a few ppl. This is what I got so far.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Thanks. The old picture is my truck, when it was a fire truck. Still trying to get more info on it's life. Paris show is this Sunday June 5 8:00-4:00 Paris fair grounds. I am planning to get there about 9:00.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
So today I finally got my cup holders finished and installed. Then my oldest son helped me run and hook up the wires for the interior lights. 2 LED's for the foot wells and LED bulb in the old upper cab light.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
So Yesterday I had to pull the axle shaft and drill a new vent hole in the axle tube for the diff. My gamble of putting it in the cover did not work at all. Every time I went faster than city speeds I would spew out gear oil all over the back of the truck. So I tied a string to a rag and shoved it in past where I was drilling to pull out any filings that fell in. Then I shoved my magnet wand down to make sure. Also made up some quick brackets to hold some air line under the bed.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Oh and this is what happens when they say no parking after 3:00. We figure he will have to pay $600-$800 to get his truck back.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Then on Sunday we went to the Unfinished Nationals in Paris Ont. It is always a great show so much cool stuff. I also met up with John (Johnny_Lamebridge). He brought his better than he lets on '63 c10. I got some more stripes put on the truck now the cab forward is done. It was also the debut of my show plaque and my show dog that my oldest son helped me design after our French bulldog to hold the plaque.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Thanks guys my brother likes taking some different pictures.
Well did some calculating and over the past week, we put on 250mi and I am getting 15.5mpg. If I can keep my foot out of the skinny peddle I'll get better than that. I'm happy with it tho for driving around. Range for 1 tank will be about 500mi. Here is my truck on this years T-shirt.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Thanks Kees she is who we modeled it after I want to change to bigger ears tho. Pictures don't do the stripes justice.
Well taking my truck Drag racing Sunday at St Thomas drag way. It's about 1.5hrs away, weather looks perfect. I will see what it can do the way I have it tuned with 8psi of boost. This is my prayer.
