Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
Overall plan is to retain as much of the originality as possible.
Immediate items: Reattach the speedometer cable to the transmission (Going to need to find some info on this) Replace one busted brake line Ditch the split ring tires and replace with some 8 lug steel rims I have laying around, then maybe 235/85R16 tires to keep the tall skinny look. Order some new front fenders Send it out to get replacement rockers/inner and outer/can corners/inside kick panels Send it out to weld up and repair the cab mounts on all corners Try to get any patch panels painted close to the current matte red/orange color Then drive it and show it off as much as possible. |

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
C'mon, that bumper alone is worth $6K on Barrett Jackson!
I'd say anywhere in the $5-10K is ballpark. The originality puts it in that range in my mind - still has the original wheels and looks like pretty much everything is still there. |

This one is $8000, asking. Not much different than mine. Wow - these trucks go for a lot.

WOW Civilegr. That is a really cool truck. You dont see many in that original condition. It looks great just as it sits. Its going to be hard to pass it up.

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
Nice truck, looks like some or maybe a lot of bodywork depending how fussy you are. Nice mirrors which are becoming harder to find, and nice rims, I like split rims. I had one very similar when I was 18 years old, I was too young and dumb to appreciate it. Overall the purchase price will only vary by a few K. And will be very little compared to the overall expense when finished, again depending on how fussy you are. I would bargain and try to get the price down, but unless his price is over the top, I would buy it.

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
civilEGR, you better go grab that before I do! Seriously, I saw that too and if I had the extra $$$ i'd be looking at it. You don't see them that original and fairly solid around here. Looks like it could be a good driver. Cheaper than going to Idaho and trying to find one!

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
This one has been on craigslist for a while maybe because of the price.

What's the deal with the air freshener?
Does someone not like that old truck smell? http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ighlight=Smell

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
I know what they say about opinions but those old dodge trucks are some of the ugliest things I have ever seen. With that being said I would not mind owning one

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
Back in the day, I worked on everything. I know how to fix dogdes too, but can't get past the looks. A guy around the corner had a 3/4T ~69 truck, painted purple (cheapo, not "Plum Crazy"). It was for sale for a long time, and I did consider selling out and buying something other than GM if I could have got it cheap. It eventually sold, but it took many months. Popularity, or maybe he was asking a prince's ransom, I don't know, as he didn't have the price on the for sale sign.
