This build is beautiful! I assume we will have similar HP, do you have traction issues when running it hard?

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Thanks, I can break loose in 1st gear anytime I want, 2nd gear is better and 3rd will slip a bit. I'm running a tall gear with the 3.08 rear end. If I had left the 3.73 in it, I think it would have been much harder to keep hooked up.

A Posi is a must!

So I had to change a headlamp in my 2012 Silverado, really shouldn't be this involved.

Thanks to all my 66 loving brothers here for voting for the truck for TOTM!

Never did I think when I first came here that it would end this way, truly blessed and can't say enough about the folks that are on this board. Most giving people I know and all preserving the wonderful history of these trucks.

Thanks again from me and my family!!!!!!

Thanks Chizzler,

Thanks for the old and new comment, it's a fine line to walk with these trucks, but I think I showed respect for what this truck is but also shows what the truck could be getting deap

Like the way the truck turned out and the old pictures and history. I agree the new cars should not have the maintenance issues that they have. Poor design and little regard for the people that buy them. Makes you appreciate the old ones that are simpler when it comes time to work on them. Great work

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

I'm looking to install a vapor canister on the fuel breather line. Problem is the bottom of the canister needs to be above the top of the fuel tank and I haven't found a good place for this yet.

Anyone done this or have a suggestion?

Hi Craig,

I just found this build when you won TOTM, I must say that it is well deserved! I love the attention to detail, the drivetrain combo and basically every thing about the truck but the best part is the history behind it. Hats off to you sir.

I did have two questions: what happened to the plan for mesquite and how ell do you like the under dash A/C unit? I'm assuming you got the fan bit worked out.

Re: Mesquite 1966 C10 - LS3 W/Air Ride

Thanks Richard,

Mesquite plan fell through due to the time line for the wedding, didn't want to tackle that. I can always add later. My plans for now is to build a center console around the shifter from Mesquite this winter.

I really like the vintage air unit, I had to replace the fan relay and the main ECU to get the fan to work again. All is good now!

DUDE! You have done very well on the truck and the kids! Heck if I was close I would buy you a beer. I have two boys in high school and the older I get the more I think that if your kids end up as productive members of society you have won the game of life....Great job ob the truck well.

Wow, thanks man and how true. Raising kids is not easy and I won't even pretend mine are Angels, but they are the love of my life and growing up way to fast but at the same time becoming wonderful young men and women.

I am very blessed in many ways and it has been worth every bump in the road! I really think fighting the battle of life makes the difference in the end.

I turned 48 last month and one of the things I really enjoyed about the wedding was all the young energy these kids have, they rocked it, I'll take that beer if you ever come through Texas!
