Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Nice details fitting that in too with the lowered section in the middle and the opening for the radiator cap. And it could be a pinstriping surface possibly?

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Pic 1. All tacked in.

Pic 2. I thought it would a cool look to match the contours and shape of the stock pan.

Pic 3. all welded up.

Pic 4-5. All smoothed and metal finished.
If you notice I also made some side pieces that wrap around to finish it off.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Pne last thing I did before it came apart.

Pic 1. This was my idea for the mount for my hood prop rods.

Pic 2. I used a rivnut inside the mount, and a steel collar for a shoulder bolt to go through. This way the bolt tightensall the way down and collar still moves free.

Pic 3. These are hardline hold downs from notch head.

Pic. 4. Rod snaps in place nice and easy.

Pic. 5. Rods stay tight to the inner fender.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

looks like a great mod, I cant seem to get my springs to lift evenly, the drivers side of the hood always hits the cowl before lifting. do you have that problem?

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

Thank you,Thank you!

Joe, My springs were so rusted and hard to close I just removed them to make it easier.
Dad (Oldman3) did the same on his truck because it would bow the ends out when shut.

Re: "Project Orangepeel" 52 A.D

yeah I have to give the drivers side a "enh" push when I get out because it creeps up.
