It's a first notch operation! OK, now for some progress. I had my glass guys install the rear hatch glass and the 2 side glasses. They will be back next week to put the front windshield in. I call them my "glass guys" because I won't let anyone else touch my projects, . They've been doing glass for me for about 15 years. They're car guys and the truly enjoy working on older vehicles (they've been in business for 42 years!). Here's some pictures of the glass and a couple of pictures of my solution to putting the temperature sender in the passengers side head. It's a 1/8 npt to 12mm 1.5 bushing. It beats drilling and retapping the head and it's not as bulky as the adapters most people use.

Re: 1969 SuperBurb build-up (Bagged and Blown!)
Thanks. I'm thinking about getting one of these dash pads since I need to add some more gauges for the supercharger. Any thoughts? I know it reduces the "stock" look, but it would make adding the gauges so much easier. Also, I know I need a boost gauge, but I have two other holes to fill, any suggestions?

Thanks. The sending unit came with the gauges and the bushing came from Dakota Digital. I'm not sure if it will work with the stock gauges.

I cannot imagine how I missed this thread, awesome project. I am sure you posted this, but are you going on the hot rod power tour this next year? I sure hope so. I am going to do the last 2 or 3 legs of the tour with my '85 burb and would really love to see this burb in person. Attention to detail and just overall quality on this build is GREAT!!

Those gauges look awesome! I know that you had that done a few years back, but you have a ballpark cost on just the gauges? Looks like a bunch of $$$.
+1 on the Mar-K stuff. I have used their stuff in the past with good results. |

I just had it taped on to check the fit. I won't put the trim on until all of the body panels are on and aligned. I got the gauges from Summit. I think the total was around $550-$600. Here's some more pictures of the front brake lines going to the master cylinder, the Flaming River tilt column, the CPP steering shaft setup and my custom made glove box emblem, .

One gauge will be a dual boost/vac. I've already got tranny temp. I was thinking wideband and oil temp?

Re: 1969 SuperBurb build-up (Bagged and Blown!)
Rob, I have a few questions. Hope you can share some of your wisdom.
You are using the ECE motor mounts correct? I am starting to install a LS2 in my 72 GMC truck. I also have the ECE mounts. What headers would you recommend, the Thorleys? I will be using a 200 4R trans, which is still in the truck. My LS2 is like a 01 or 02, and I would like to use the mechanical fan that's on it. I wonder if I can use it with the stock radiator? Why did you go electric, radiator to fan spacing?

thanks for the info on the gauges. I was thinking it would cost more than that.
Wow! that took some serious time! Just curious what material did you use to make that from? Have I mentioned this burb is way over the top. |
