Re: My Crew Cab Short Bed Project, AKA "Project Destiny"
Looks good!
You know, my painter shot my 6.5" wheels I bought for my trailer. Went with the white we're using for my two tone, should also match the trailers stripes. I'm thinking I'll get the tires mounted and get them on the trailer, but only put the center caps on, no beauty rings, just to see how it looks. Seen a few lately with center caps only, no rings, and they look good when the wheels are painted and not just silver.

I bet it will look nice, you could always paint them red to match the pickup's rallies too Quote:
I just used some fine steel wool, it took the paint off and shined up the chrome all in one step. I also painted the center where the bowtie sticker is. I have 3" spindles and old sagging springs with a coil and a half cut off and no bumpstops. Thanks Mike! I am open to trade some 338's

Thanks Willie!!
It's most likely going to stay 2wd and low. I'm hoping to find a 4x4 blazer, burb, or tahoe down the road.... Posted via Mobile Device

Joe, been a while since I read up on your build. I've had a lot going on. Glad to see some progress still being made.

Re: My Crew Cab Short Bed Project, AKA "Project Destiny"
i love your truck joe and i have been debating if i should make my 4x4 crew cab a short bed or not, i plan on doing a cummins swap later on down the road but i was wondering if you had any pics of how your frame was done, if you can help me out than i will more than likely be able to decide depending on how much work there is into it

Re: My Crew Cab Short Bed Project, AKA "Project Destiny"
You guys are too much!!!
Thanks Gerald! Thanks firenuttz!! I read and planned on shortening one for a year or so, then a buddy, JohnC, found one already shortened that I couldn't pass up. I can get you pics of the frame or probably answer any questions you have. Since yours is lifted (right?), you could probably just move your spring hangers forward 14" and cut the excess off the back of the frame.... Posted via Mobile Device

Re: My Crew Cab Short Bed Project, AKA "Project Destiny"
Don't lift it!!!
Just buy the crew cab that's down here by my house, and lift that one. Then you can have the best of both worlds. |
