It's got a few things that I'm not too fond of, but overall, it looks like a sweet truck. Nice color too.

#1 is the rollpan. Granted, it looks better on this truck than most of the trucks I see that pan on these days, but the time of the ZR-1 rollpan has passed. I would replace it with a normal, unlighted rollpan and then stick some good taillights (I prefer the LED set I have in my Suburban) back in where they belong.

The grille update in itself is fine. It doesn't bother me that it was updated and kept the sealed beam headlights, but I don't like the funky "mess" in the openings. I think the mesh is part of the grille. A cheap eBay thing. The big killer on the grille update is the use of the stock '88-'93 parking lights. Those lights don't fit right in the later grilles and just look ugly in there. Replace the parking lights with some stock '94-'98 pieces or some nice diamond clear aftermarket pieces and then cut out the "mesh" in favor of billet or something else. The chrome grille does look a little out of place with the painted bumper and everything else on the truck being chrome-free. Maybe color match the grille, or my personal preference, swap to a GMC grille. I do like the sidemarker lights, though. I wish they would make them for the '94-'98 GMC grilles.

The wheels, though not really that bad, just don't work for me. They're too blingy.

The interior looks super-clean from what can be seen. I had a similar seat in my truck long ago. I didn't like the woodgrain, so I smoothed it out and then painted it an accent color, in my case it was gray with the same color blue interior.

But like I said, the overall package looks really good and that blue is very nice. I'm a sucker for blue. The truck was built to the taste of the owner, which isn't all bad, but my tastes tend to skew a little off from the masses and it would need a bit of tweaking to fit my liking.

I too have never really been a fan of these. I also think they look ok on this truck. But, I also have a Z06 so they don't bother me too much. This is probably something I'll change in the future.

The grill is a bit blingy and I will probably change that also. I also plan to change the parking lights at the least.

The wheels, though not really that bad, just don't work for me. They're too blingy.

As far as the wheels go, I prefer a 5 spoke design but these will do for now. At least they are chrome and have new rubber.

The interior looks super-clean from what can be seen. I had a similar seat in my truck long ago. I didn't like the woodgrain, so I smoothed it out and then painted it an accent color, in my case it was gray with the same color blue interior.

Yes, the clean interior was a big factor in the purchase. I like the buckets with the ability to carry around my 2 boys and or the wife if she's lucky.
I too don't like the wood grain and I will be changing that. The interior has a little too much billet also. The sterring wheel, which you can't see, ac vents and speaker covers.

But like I said, the overall package looks really good and that blue is very nice. I'm a sucker for blue. The truck was built to the taste of the owner, which isn't all bad, but my tastes tend to skew a little off from the masses and it would need a bit of tweaking to fit my liking.
Thanks, I'm always open to constructive critics and ideas. It's the overall potential of this truck that sold me.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Sold my 67 to pay off some medical bills, hated it so much but sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

My new project, 89 Sport, have completed many things to date. Have much more planed.

Going to start a build thread sometime.

Hiway, do you have any more pics of your extended cab. Looks really sweet. I've been considering a two tone like yours.

Post them if you get a chance. What did you do to divide the two colors? Stripe of some kind?

The paint divides in the bottom of the upper crease nicely...and the next seam down (1/2") is a quarter inch wide silver stripe. Still pondering changing the stripe to something that stands out more...green, purple, dark blue

A quick snapshot when I got home tonight. Here are the twins, they aren't identical or anything, but the same Momma and the same year.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

nice man.
Do you have a load leveling hitch or something on there?? I just have to think that the weight of a truck (assuming 3000-5000 lbs) would make a 1500 squat down a lil more than that.
