Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
Little setback Mike. With the exposure this ride will get, I'd imagine there's a whipper-snapper out there that'd love to be "the guy". Suppose the problem would be finding someone you can trust, can get it done in time and is in the budget! Will be watching.

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
I don't agree w/the comment about Gary not being a man of his word. Domestic issues are not always controlled the way you want. I had to move out @ moments notice. My x-Gf wasn't bad but she sure didn't expedite the financial side of things which worked well for her but put me in limbo since I had a 240k mortgage hanging around my neck (a 2+ year limbo unless I wanted to jack w/her daughters college education). Maybe Gary is working to meet family obligations which trump somebody's project.
I say just do like the rest of the guys on this board. Move on to another place. Most shops charge a similar rate so that should be a wash..... Lots of us have lived through it.

My body guy is also one of my best friends, I told him I would do whatever on my end so he could try to save his marriage. I understand completely if it was try to save my marriage or finish my buddies truck I would try to save my marriage also. I just wish she could have waited one more month before she flipped out ! LOL

Body guys you can find, best friends don't come along very often. I'm sure every thing with the truck will work out fine.

Good luck getting another body man or shop to wrap it up. Sucks to hear about Gary though but totally understandable with the circumstances. Hope things work out for him too.

Hang in there Mike. I hope that Gary can get it straightened out with his marriage. Like you said, it comes first.
I know its only been a couple of days, but you got any promising leads yet?

way to throw a little humour at a bad situation. You will make it, if for no other reason than you deserve to. This build hasn't really had any drama up until this point, mostly been a feel good movie, now we're all on the edge of our seats. lol
hopefully your sons football game took your mind off it for a little while. |

I know of a really good place here in DFW but not sure about their current load or even how far away it is for you. They do good work though. It's dusold designs in Lewisville if its worth looking into

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
Fingers crossed probably is not what you need right now, but I wish you good fortune in finding the right people to keep this truck on track.
I for one also understand the whole "family before toys" ethos, even if I think it sometimes sucks. So I hope your buddy gets his life sorted out, regardless of the trucks progress, breakups are never good.

Started getting all the exhaust mocked up last night. We are running all Flowmaster 3 inch stainless pipe and Flowmaster 40's.

Man that's gonna look nice, are you planning to MIG or TIG the joints. Any coating on the exhaust pipes after mock up?

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
Not sure if you've used Jet Hot before but my experience with them and their product has been great. They coated a set of headers for my '06 Silverado in Silver Luster and after 5 years and about 60K miles they still look pretty good. This was a daily driver truck too so it got put to the test.
I was curious on the welding, when I get to that stage I'm going to give it a shot with MIG and see what happens. I don't have the TIG equipment. |

Re: Slosh Tubz SEMA 2015 Build "BOOSTED BERTHA"
Yeah just switch to stainless wire and let it rip. I've done a bunch of structural stainless at work but never tried to tackle stainless exhaust tubing. Glad it worked out for ya, gonna look great.
