Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

I think the truck turned out fantastic too, that's why I voted for it for truck of the month. I would have a hard time selling this one.

The rear disc brakes are installed, as well as the driver side Porter Built C-Notch, upper shock bar, new brake hard lines, brake hoses and track bar. We just ordered a '69 Camaro gas tank, fuel sender, front and rear bumpers and bumper bolt kits.

Once we finish up the rear suspension it will be time to install the bed. It will look more like a truck then!

If I may ask, what rear disk brake setup did you use on your 69?

I believe they used the Captain Fab setup with the astrovan rotors and either standard front calipers or the eldorado calipers.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

Capt Fab brackets, Astro / Impala SS. I just used a standard rotor, they're not cross drilled or vented or anything. I had a bit of a bad experience with cross drilled rotors so I just went the standard route. If I were racing or autox as I originally planned. . Then yeah but, it just got a little out of control.

Re: 1969 C10 SWB - Big Block project

I like the way the dash turned out on this truck with the Classic AutoSound Stereo with the cool CST matching knobs. The Vintage Air SureFit kit will keep things cool when we cruise down to the Coker Tire Show in Chattanooga next month. Always an awesome variety of some the nicest cars and trucks around. Who all's coming?

I didnt want to get away from the stock appearing dash. I know some do, and that's cool too but this truck will be for sale soon so I couldnt get too carried away. The radio lights up digital, but looks like the older AM/FM style. It sounds really good too. The Vintage stuff is very cool. They have the Gen4 kit really down to fit these trucks. We tied it into the Painless harness, no problem.

Will your friend with the 50th be there ? It would be neat to park the trucks together. I just realized today 2018 is the 100th Anniversary Edition. Get it ? Saddle Interior ?

I checked & he’s down to 3. He’s planning on coming up to the show. Maybe he will buy yours to add to his collection.

What do you guys think of "7 Year Itch" for the name of Chad's truck? We started on it almost 7 years to the day that it was finished!
