Youll notice that my cap and wheel are still not on spent the last week trying to figure that system out

Wierd, but back in HS when my father gave me the families '62, the first thing i did was the same type of steering wheel and cragers, had problems then, 40 years later still have the same problems. Youd think they wouldve redesigned it by now

Jim, been a while since I stopped by, but I'm caught up. You are definitely in what my wife calls "the fiddly work" of the project. Tedious stuff, but I love when somebody takes the time to do it right.

Re: PO has me PO'd

Thanks for stopping by, tynee. Say hi to the wifey for me...

Trust me, if i do something wrong, ive got a whole bunch of guys on this forum ready to let me know

Had to hold up on my project for some house work, just three weeks! Ordered some parts while i was busy doing electrical
Billet hood hinges
Electric water pump with port for heater hose
Valve covers
Speed warning head and tin

Every time i think i have the cooling system cured, something changes and i have to rethink, redo the system. This could be the last time. Change the outlet on my rad. to accept 1 3/4" hose, mandatory for the 50 GPH pump. Just got done collecting all the fittings in 1 1/2" aluminum, w/ pipe

70shortfleet did an excellant job punching out my non tach tin, and sandblasting, painting

Re: PO has me PO'd

Out with the old, in with the new....2003Silverado nailed the problem right away, seemes that i dropped my neutral, all the years of the shielding passing thru the wall corroded my shielding on my main cable. I think Edison installed my electrical power, right after the block in Brooklyn

Nice work by Les. quite the drama down in the classified on this purchase, but Mel being the good board member he is, got me thru it
S/B the last upgrade on my dash, steering column. Now to move on to other problem areas

You helped out just enough, thank you! Just one more problem and the whole house will be back up and running. Seems the porch light isnt working, maybe the switch, will check tomorrow. But, it may be one of those end run systems that i dont understand
Think the smithsonian might want my panel box for a exhibit

Funny, John and I were just talking about stopping up, but my family just had two deaths in a week, so it might be awhile

Sorry for no updates, but parts wont be in till next week

Jim, I'm sorry about the deaths in your family. that has a way of keeping things in perspective.

You're making slow and steady progress, that's a lot better than some of the rest of us.

Thanks Doug for your condolenses, he was a very good irish man that served his country and city with honor and integrity. We should all rise to that level in our lives. Honest as the day is long, and man could he spin a tail with his accent and humor

Got the aluminum billet hood hinges in today, and they do hit the blower motor, sooo

I will use themwith a prop rod, until i come up with a solution for gas struts

Ive already posted this picture, but who knows where. Its out there in syberspace somewhere

Re: PO has me PO'd

After talking to Meziere, seems my idea for the return water line off of the heater wont work, it has to be on the suction side of the pump. Sooo, bought a ported water pump, this should solve that problem, but, it requires a 1 3/4" inlet. To solve that problem, i contacted Griffen, and they sold me a pipe with a mandrel bent 45. We will see how that goes next week when it arrives

The port is a ORS to a -12an (3/4")

With help from guys in the engine section, installed neoprene gaskets. Never fooled with this type before, just a cork and permatex kinda guy! VCs accept a external pcv, plus a fresh air vent to the air cleaner, hidden under the cover

Jim,
Is the 45 going into the Intake manifold, coming from the bottom of the heater core, cross threaded?

Jim,

Just noticed you have a TR6 on your wall. Do you/have you had one? I have one I'm semi-restoring.

yeah, could say that Doug! At one time....my basement, backyard, far backyard, and ten garages filled with triumphs and triumph parts. tr3-tr6. DD was a restored tr6 for many, many fun years. Need a factory tr6 manual?

New toy...

PT made up the grounding clamp for the SW speedo and supplied the NOS knob. Weird, but the aftermarket circuit board had the hole punched for the brass grounding pin. Combination of Mel at Classic Bowtie, and Les, and passmore, where i bought the NOS buzzer from. Thanks guys for all the help, another segment completed! This board really helps a resto mod, or a quad rod

Re: PO has me PO'd

Working on cooling system, again! Removed 1 1/2" outlet, fit 1 3/4" into rad. Griffin Rads. sent me another piece of mandrel bent 45 to fit in place of the rubber hose....
Went behind the counter at advance auto and searched their supply of hose and came up with this. Just cut off the 10" with the 90 in it, shame the 45 was facing the wrong way, or it would have bolted right up to my lower outlet.

Also, have to flush out all the grinding debris from the rad, probably will ruin seals in the water pump if i dont get it all out, my luck!
Still wondering if i should notch out more where the factory notch is....

Re: PO has me PO'd

This is half of the weather-pak system connecters that i found down on electrical forum. Vetvette, or fixit P recommended them to finish wiring up the water pump. Connectors lock together, with a silcone seal

Didnt make the second crimp yet, to hold the seal in place, just a practice run to see how my new crimper tool worked out
