Re: Project two tone.
Hi all! Hope your Christmas was awesome! Anyhow, Christmas day was great and I still got some truck time in.
Tank mounted and fuel line is bent and painted up. I know it isn't the best way to run it, but due to the way the sending unit fitting aims I had no choice; and I wasn't going to re-route the entire system again, so I got some AC delco ethanol resistant fuel line and a filter. Pump is a carter 100 gph that's capable of 15 psi so it should have no problems. Also I am running 3/8 line. Anyhow, have to get some nuts and bolts to mount the pump, but the tank is in and the lines are done. Until next time.

Re: Project two tone.
TJ,
Tank looks good. There are several guys building hot rod sixes like yours on the facebook pages. Not sure if you are on any of those. I saw the same drawing as above and thought about you. TJ would like that. Did you get anything cool for the truck for Xmas? Bret

Thanks Brotha!
Little early, but Happy New Year folks! Tiny update to end the evening. Had a few minutes so I got my fuel pump mounted up and the rest of the line routed. She's set permanent folks! One more thing off the list. Later guyz.

Re: Project two tone.
Do you have a build up on your motor or did I miss it. I am redoing my 65 ickup. It has had a stock 292 and 5 speed in it for about 20 years and want to update the motor. What did you use for pistons and a cam?
Thanks |

Re: Project two tone.
Thanks. My head is the same as yours but didnt shave anything off it. What compression were the pistons? Do you know what final compression ratio is? Have you put any miles on the motor yet? Happy with it?

Re: Project two tone.
Hey guys! Few small updates to get the week started.
Since I am planning on getting this engine going soon I've been working on getting it finished so it can be ran. Lotta small stuff still needed to be done. Fan belt I had was too long so I got a shorter one and that takes care of That. lol See pic. Also got my new starter mounted up. Still debating on painting it black.....Thoughts????? Got some gasket maker and made some gaskets for the adapter plate and then purchased a 1/2 inch thick gasket for the carb mount. I'll show the reason for all that later this week. Had to raise the carb up a little. Anyhow....also got some brass 90's for the water heating jacket on the intake manifold so I can rout the water hoses better. Oh yeah, siliconed the thermo stat housing in place so that is on permanent. Well all this and not much was done, but it beats nothing at all. lol Should have some better updates this weekend as parts will be coming in and I'll be trying to spend most of the day working on the truck. Weather has been cold and nasty as well so time to get the wood stove fired up! Later guys!
