Thanks! It was just under 50 hours from start to finish…I don't plan on sanding anything else for the rest of my life.

I'd like to send a special shout out to fellow member WhippinSaw & his '63 long stepper for inspiring these stake rails, his truck has black single rails which look just right against his white truck.
I had to shorten mine due to my over the rail tool box so my vertical pieces don't actually line up with the stake pockets but I found a way to secure them with no visible fasteners, I'm pleased with how they look. I actually made these up from 1" thick PVC trim boards, so no painting and no rot!

And if I may, Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canucks!
i like it!!!!! very cool looking truck. the way it was probably used along time ago.

Hey thanks very much gimmy 64. Still trying to track down the history on the truck, I do know & have a photo of the original selling dealership in Alberta but no info on who bought it or how many owners it had prior to coming to Ontario. I am the 5th and hopefully the final owner of this truck in Ontario.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.

I got those mirrors from a local junk yard 2 years ago. Had to get a water pump pulley and it was off a v8 truck. 63 c30 and the block was torn down. Went to take a leak and walked back and kicked the pulley half hidden in the dirt. Lol. I got the spotlight off ebay while on deployment for less than 50 bucks with all hardware and I got the jerry can at harbor freight. So far the junkyard has pulled through for me last three times. I Last got two flasher switches and a dealer installed extinguisher with bracket. So far so good and yet so much more to do. And that's house paint lol. I don't mind it but want to do a blue with white scheme and convert over to a 4x4 running gear.

Had the truck out for one of its first drives in over a year. Stopped to check fluid levels and snapped a few photos. Crappy cell phone pics. Engine compartment.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.

Some of the outside. Still lots to do but the entire drivetrain has been replaced and all wear parts are new, so it's virtually new. Few tweaks to make still, but pretty happy. Sorry for the blurriness, dirty cell phone lens.

That's no fair!

Guess I'll just have to put it in my lightweight SWB '71 with some fat tires and a TH400 and bump the power up a little from 370HP...

Re: What did you do to your truck today part II.

Spent ~12 hours over the weekend sanding down the A-pillars, dash, firewall, kickpanels, floor, and rear wall, then getting it into primer. I'm chomping at the bit to get the interior into finished paint. The firewall, floor, and rear wall will be satin black (matching the exterior of the truck), while the A-pillars, dash, and kickpanels will match the interior roof (silver hammertone). The floor will eventually receive a "full floor" black vinyl floor mat, and a re-pop insulation panel will cover the firewall, so the only satin black paint you'll see inside the cab will be the lower rear wall (and likely a portion of the door panels).

Lookin good racecougar. I decided to cowboy my cab lights today and I also got my heater duct on plus my "new" heater control lever. I also found a potential bumper I'm more than likely going to get next pay day.
