Thanks. I also shortened my steering column a while back. I took 3" out to give me a little more space, so I won't have to spend money on an aftermarket column. Next up is the pedal assembly. I bought it a few days ago and it should be here soon. I'm going to knock out the floor to give me a little more leg room. Should be fun.

Hey man, I know you're busy and everything but if you have anytime I'd love to come hang out in your garage. I still don't have a truck of my own to build but it's always a learning experience just watching someone work. I know very little about fabrication or welding but if I can help in anyway at all even if it's just holding something in place or moving something, I'd be happy to.

So, just tying up loose ends from a while back. I welded a few threaded couplers together to get the sway bar to clear the steering linkage. I had to make them a little higher to make sure they cleared lock to lock, bags all the way up and all the way down.

I got some parts in the mail yesterday. The steering column bearings came in, but you guys probably don't need a pic of those! Here's the the exciting stuff. It's a Holley mid-rise efi intake. I'm going to go through all of my parts and see what I have and what's missing to build this engine asap. It will be a few months till the time and money come together but I've got plenty to do till then.

That intake will definitely fill the void left from the 'better looking' LS1/2/3 intakes while much more pleasing to the eye vs the truck units.

Yeah, it's a lot about looks and making the engine compartment not look empty. It's also ideal for power between 2000-6600, which exactly matches my cam. Should be a great combo for the street.

LS's are pounders and a cam upgrade makes them go crazy...your going to have tons of power.....it's looking good man. Your making me wanna work on some of mine own stuff...You do great work

I have this wood one for mine. Just have to buy the adapter & horn kit.



Side note: Don't buy a wood one with the rivets. They are just stickers and can peel off. Unless they are covered with thicker clear coat.

THanks. 17 inch rims all around, with a 30" tall tire in the rear(255 55 17) and I think a 27" tall tire in the front(235 50 17).

Started on the headers. I've got to get them dialed in, or at least mocked up to cut the floor and push it forward. #7 down, now for the rest.

Since I moved the engine back i had to move the mounting holds of the engine mounts, trans and also cut a hole for the shifter to come through as close to the seat as I could go. I had to also make an offset for the shifter to clear the seat.

Checking clearance between the throttle body and electric fans. Going to have to try and find a 25 degree, 4 inch elbow for the intake and go strait down between the fans with it since the intake is slanted down in the front. I shouldn't have any cooling issues with all that exposure, hopefully. I also had to offset the NoLimit rack and pinion mount. With the strong arms there was no clearance, so I cut off the mounts and offset them about 3/8" up.

So, after trying to fit and tack the header pipes on the truck, I finally figured out that I needed to create a mock up, make a jig and fit them up on my work bench. Here's where I got the idea: www.stainlessheaders.com
Great video series. This is tougher than I thought it would be, but well worth it. I just need to fit number 5, tack it together and then check it on the truck. Then the fun part, welding them all up. Oh yeah and then the other side.
