Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....

love it man those doors look so good! im really starting to take a liking to the grays and silvers here recently.

and for the doors when i hung mine i used a jack stand on one end and you can lower or raise it to help get them set up.

Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....

Thank you all for checking in on me, and offering all the cool comments. I truely appreciate the time and the thoughts !!

********************************************************************************************

Well,
I have pretty much finished the interior of my cab.
As soon as I get around to posting the video to YouTube, I will link it here for you guys !!

I just have to do the door seals, clean up and install the sun visors, and get the seat upholstered at this point.

In the mean time, I did my horn button.
All I did was fill in the spokes and the center with a gloss model paint black.
It looks a lot more crisp in person.
I realize after all the other over the top mods and stuff I am doing to this build, this probably seems to be underplayed.
Before:
Name: 31may13 horn button paint (1).jpg
Views: 564
Size: 35.9 KB

After:
Name: 31may13 horn button paint (2).jpg
Views: 545
Size: 38.6 KB

In all the builds I have seen here, I have yet to see a horn button like this one.

Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....

Ok hopefully I linked this right today ...... LOL

This was a one take shot.
The music was not dubbed in, it is playing on the stereo I intalled with all 7 speakers pumping the tunes. I have to say the sound is clear and a joy to listen to (I put a lawn chair in the cab, and treated myself to a couple hours of song surfing and beers after I shot this) !!!

Hopefully this video will show all the mods I have done to the dash and back wall. I realize the speakers in the dome light are hard to see, and I apologize for this. I only wish I had turned on the dash lights before I turned on the garage lights.

At this point the carpet is in, shifter mounted, all the sound system installed and working, new glovebox, and all the other odds and ends you may have to pause the video play to look at.
All that is left to install is the seat, steering wheel, and sun visors at this time.

I did sound deadner the cab corners, that is why they show up looking like foil. I thought about shooting them with some flat black paint, but i like the way they reflect the cab lights.
Speaking of which, I installed 4 of the LED blue accent light pods in each corner of the cab. They are controled by the headlight switch and the door jamb switches, just like real courtesy lights.

Please dont mind the dirty windows... this place drives me crazy with how hard it is to keep stuff clean, and now that Spring has arrived all the pollen is insane !!

Hope you like it, and thanks for looking !!

Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....

Sounds awesome! I bought the same receiver for my Silverado and really like it. That blinky-light jazz gets a little annoying after about five seconds of night driving so I just picked a color combo that matched the OEM gauge colors. That is a pretty cool feature. Truck is looking good man!

Thank you sir, I like how some of them, like the dash trim are so subtle that you would at a glance think it was stock.
It has occured to me that I wish I could make custom, chrome trim ..... how cool would that be??

Thanks Greg, you know I tune in to your build every time you add something new!
I was just thinking of a corroboration build with you, inspired by 1Bad62Pro/Street's suicide door mods; just something a bit more al'la you and I.... LOL

Yeah I think I am going to set it to the same blue as the courtesy lights I put in once I do the final battery install some day in the (hopefully) near future.

Man, I soooooo want to get it outside and do the video tour so as to get the full spectrum of the colors in that cab and on the dash.
And list the mods as the video goes along.
I think someone asked about that around my 1 year post, but at the time it was too hard for me to get my head wrapped around. Now I am thinking I can really knock that out.

I picked up my steel tubing for the main and return fuel lines today, so with any luck I may have it rolling and stopping under its own power before too much longer !
I also ordered a combination flare/bubble flare kit today, should be here Monday, just in time for me to bend up those fuel lines this weekend !!

As always, thanks for checking in on me guys, your time and attention are priceless in keeping me focused and motivated and I appreciate each one of you and the builds you have of your own !!!

Re: Not Another Rebuild Thread....

How in the heck did I miss this video for days??? Your interior looks great. All of the very cool extras really shine through. Sound system sounds good even on a video. Like the heater controls mod, coat hooks, back panel for the sound system, etc. The instrument cluster looks great as well. I hope you believe that imitation is flattery cause I will be stealing some of your ideas.

Your work is great!
