I have been looking at the Swag press brake for a while. How do you like it?

Sid...Thank you for your kind words. If I need to make another I am going to make the small hole a little smaller. This will still work ok though I would like it a bit neater. Maybe someone out there sells reproductions? Took me about 6 hours in the shop to get it done.

Hey thanks Ron! The Swag press brake is a nice little unit. A downside is it won't bend to 90 degrees so I later ordered their top plate which allows bending beyond 90 degrees. The fingers make this one pretty versatile though I haven't had time to explore all it can do.

Kees...thanks, those little things do take lots of time. It took 12 hours to do the left rear fender and left running board install and about 20 minutes for the right side.

Hey Marc, put it together, take it apart...it did feel good to stand back and look at it for a bit. Now that I know it all fits I can take it apart again. Then on to the next item.

Sid, thank you for giving me the best laugh I've had all week! I guess since I made the battery location almost unservicable I thought I would do the same with the gas fill too.

Yes Lowers thank you, I plan to run the fuel fill up to the top of the left fender. The pic above is from a Burb build here.

Thanks 65sub. My running board mount isn't much after following your cool build though I enjoyed making it. It was nice to see some body parts on, even temporarily.

Like ...I had the right front fender and inner installed a few weeks ago. You know how the inner bolts right to the toe board on the right side. My new floor needs drilling, so I center punched the holes in the inner fender to mark the floor for drilling. Took it back apart...and I can't see the punch marks. Will use a paint dot next time.

Been getting a little shop time with the wife and a lot of weekend Grandson time. What a blessing.

After exploring a number of different alternatives for the fuel tank I decided to Contact Dwcsr (Dave) at Hollister Road Company for one of his tank and fill pipe packages. You can tell Dave is really knowledgable when he posts to share his projects or helps a member with their questions. I figured I would rely on someone who knows what they are doing, has done this before and provide some business to one of our vendors

Dave promptly replied to my inquiry, talked about a package, put a quote together, and made it really easy to do business. Plus he is a nice guy and really knows how to do this.

His package includes the fill pipes and hoses so he sent me the below drawing to comparison measure to the Burb.

Nice detail and I figured out the fill pipe will go up through the left fender about where the angle is at the two inch mark. Took some pictures and measurements on the Burb and sent them back to Dave.

I was amazed when a FedEx truck showed up today with the tank and parts from Tanks and Hollister Road Company. Wow, this tank is really nice! I used a tank from Spectra for my last build and there is no comparison to this one.

Like an excited little kid, I had to check the parts. Everything is here that was shipped from Tanks. Dave will be sending the fill pipe later.

The tank fits nicely and next time I pull the body back off the frame, I will build an upper cradle to position the top of the tank and use the straps to hold it up.

The same FedEx truck had the Hooker exhaust manifolds from Amazon. I followed FarmerSid's lead on these and ordered them Thursday.

They fit! Left side has a lot of clearance and the right side top of frame rail will need 1/4" or so shaved off.

While these look to be nice pieces, I was surprised to read in the instructions they can't be used for a new engine break in as the ceramic coating isn't cured yet. Hooker advises to use some other exhaust manifolds to break in the engine then install the new ones. They even give a break in process for the ceramic coating.

And I decided I was tired of not being able to see while grinding so I fixed that.

nice pics and parts. I was going to order that face shield real soon. as for the headers, not sure what they mean by breaking in and LS engine that is a roller setup. also wasn't aware of breaking in ceramic learn something new everyday is good.

Good looking parts Doug. I've never heard of a "break in " for ceramic coating either but I guess they would know best. I had mine coated by a local shop and just bolted them on and started driving.
