It's more fun than cutting on dirty old rusty metal....

Oil pan should be here Friday. I got the Holley LS brackets and really like the way they look and bolt up. I will have to make a few mods for the supercharger, but they should work perfect on Jakes LS1 in his 68 (pics).

Yeah I know I'm hard to satisfy and a little crazy but lately I have been thinking about how I want to be able to drive my truck long distances and on highways without turning 3000 rpms or overheating. I am really liking the power and efficiency of these LS motors. When I put the BBC in I thought a lot about an LS but was afraid to do the swap and the cost of trying to figure it out. Since adding the dropmembers I am thinking a lot about wanting the truck to be able to drive anywhere. I'm researching my options now as I'm a total newb to LS swaps. I will have plenty of questions for you since you seem to have a lot of experience with them

I was just giving you a poke.... You know how I feel about the LS's and if you plan on driving it a lot, I wouldn't hesistate changing directions. If you don't do it now, you will in the future......

Re: 68 S/C update.....

Rob is that the F-Body pan? And also what is that sensor for in the side of the oil pan. Is it a crank sensor or something? Sorry for the stupid questions, I'm a LS newb. Just trying to learn more.

No worries Keith - The pan is from an 07 Cadillac CTSV. Here is a picture of a truck pan, caddy pan and f-body pan. The sensor you asked aobut is for the oil level in the pan. The crank sensor is either on the front or the rear on the motor depending on the LS version (Gen I-V).

No problem Keith. If you check out my Shifted build thread, I used a FBody pan with the extreme PB dropmember.

Yeah I know Nate recommends to use the f-body pan with the dropmembers but I never saw a picture to show the difference in the pans until you posted it up. Now I know why he recommends the f-body pan.

Re: 68 S/C update.....

Progress!! I've been waiting on a tool to install the crank hub and it finally showed up today. So I go it installed and I finally got all the parts and pieces for the bracket setup bolted on. So after 4 trips to different parts store, I finally found a belt long enough to fit (120", ). Before I said what I was doing, the guy at O'Reilly's said "you must be putting this on a supercharger...." . Anyways, here's a some pictures.

, yeah this belt is longer than the one in my 2500 HD turbo diesel, .

Today I made a pattern for a bracket that helps support the snout of the supercharger. I just need get a buddy to machine it out of .25 aluminum and this part of the motor swap will be done, .
