OK.....I'm pissed.....thosed turned out really nice Kevin. I like them better then my 60/40's I just got done.

I have seen many many many late model vehicles with FlowMasters and other mufflers rust out very prematurely due to all the condensation and especially with smog type engines. i would suggest a weep or drain hole in the muffler somewhere to keep them drained........it wont negatively effect the muffler or make it any louder. Might help keep muffler lasting a lot longer.

Well I had a few minutes between Taylors naps so I put it to good use. I finished the Dyna Mat up the fire wall, cab corners, inside the doors and any were else I could get it. I had 3 sheets left over so I doubled up the fire wall and front floor. Then any part that was not covered by carpet I painted black so it would blend in. I will try and get a bit more done tonight after he heads off to sleep.

first off let me say that your skills are incredible. i have checked out several of your threads and i am always amazed. my question for you is have you ever thought of making an under dash panel? one thing i never liked about older vehicles is the unfinished looking lower dash. i would love to see what you could come up with. and again great work on all the rides. chris

Funny you mention that as I was just adding it to a build list I have going for another project. This one is not that detailed so it will stay as is once I clean things up a bit and wire in my C.C. and seat heaters. I will probaly do it out of fiber glass so it tucks into the dash lower lip and covers everything under the dash to the fire wall. Just leave the brake pedal comming thru.

I may have missed the info if it was given but I will ask.........the gauge housing you have above the left A/C vent,is that hand built or a product that is purchaseable?

Ok this is not a bash as much as it is a just know what you are getting into! I have ordered covers from Ca Car Cover before with out any problem but this time was another story. First I went on-line and ordered a cover for a 70 SWB Custom fit with my company logo on the front. Simple enough since it was a regular item of theirs. Then I marked the box for side mirrors and antena. Then down in the aditional info box I discribed the mirrors and left my cell # if their were any qiestions or problems they could call me before shipping. No calls is good right? I get the cover and guess what no mirrors and with the stock ones I have the cover will not fit with out almost ripping the cover. I call to find out what happened and the lady tells me well it is a pre 80 model so we do not do mirrors!! I said is this not a custom fit cover and did I not have a box to check that SAID MIRRORS? She said yes but we do not do mirrors for pre 80 models. But if you want you can send it back and we will add them at not extra cost  I am sorry but this maid no sence to me but I said ok when will I get the shipping return lable so I can send it back (long pause) and she says they will send one right out. I tell her I will mark the cover for the mirrors and antenna so their are no mistakes before I send it out.So I take pics with a tape measure showing key dimension, start and stop points and I slice the cover right at the millor and antenna locations. I test fit the antenna sleave to make sure it is long enough for our stock cowl mounted antenas and it is like 4" too long but I figure I will leave it as is. 3 weeks later I get the cover back and the mirrors fit great but now the antenna sleave is 12" too short So I call back and talk to the same lady and tell her thank you the mirrors fit great BUT the antenna sleave is too short now. So she wants me to send it back again (that would put it about 2 1/2months from order date) and I tell her no thank you just sent me a new antenna sleave and I will pay someone here to put it on because I need the truck to be out side so I can get other vehicals built. So a long story short I have the sleave comming, they gave me my original shipping $ back and I have a real nice cover. I will be ordering from them again but I wil call first and set it all up with a manager as to what I want and need. Also I will order it a few months before I think I will need it. Like I said they are a great company and have good products but youy may run into a few snags but now you know about them so it won't be a surprise Kevin LFD Inc. |

Went for about a 2mile test drive to get gas and a few parts I needed for my exhaust fan set up I am doing in my shop and boy is this a solid truck now. Not a single rattle or tin can sound. Between all the dyna matt, carpet, door panels and making sure every nut and bolt was new or cleaned and tightened made a world of differance. You shut the doors with a click and all you head is a nice thud sound. Heck with new cars
I will be heading out soon and wil get some pics to post up in a day or so when I get home.I went ahead and put in my "show " head lights. They put out cr@p for light but sure look good with the blue bulbs. I wil put the H4's back in soon enough. Kevin LFD Inc. |

Well all went great! No problems, alot of thumbs up along the way. My parents loved it and my dad even gave up his parking fior his Benz for the night to keep all the due off of it. I stopped a few spots along the way for some pics on the way to my parents and only a few on the way home because I hade Taylor with me and he was busy sleeping away the day. I guess he approves of the ride and rumble. We went home thru Napa and over the hill past Lake Beriessa so I had about 15 miles of nice twisty road that was alot of fun. I even cought up to a couple of Mazda's and Honda 2000 that were playing on the twistys as well. I guess horse power is good for somthing after all.
