Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
Your mod looks good.
Replica of fall guy truck. Built by students from a nearby college where I'm originally from. They did the truck bed doors correct. .

5 min into the video he shows the doors. There is also a video of when they were fabricating them on YouTube. I am going to put power actuators to open the door rather than an actual door handle or button.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
I started to build the box that the doors will open up for. I matched the inside of the bed contour and added 5/16 Nutserts to bolt the panel in. I will finish the top and bolt it in as well.

Fall Guy, Dukes of Hazard, Night Rider, and Chips. My favorite shows growing up. Not many know about the Fall Guy doors even if you watched the show most probably don't remember that.
Was there any documentation on that truck you found from original? Would be cool to see some of that info. I think your hinges look really good. What was your reason to put the doors in the back vs the front? .

these doors are basically the same as the fall guy truck. The doors open suicide to the front doors and are at the front of the bed. First picture is from the tailgate end of the bed looking towards the cab. Second picture(with the 1" tubing) if from the cab end looking towards the tailgate.

I can’t wait either. I bet I have more than 100 hours in it. Well here are a few more pictures. I was able to get the doors adjusted and got the box complete but forgot to take pictures today. I will get some tomorrow. Looking pretty good and working good also.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
A little update.
I was able to get the the bed storage box built. My body guy started the body work. I did have to tighten up the door gap on the driver side. After a few hours of work on the front head panel I decided to order a replacement. This front panel now really doesn't support anything..... the original was going to take too much work to get straight. Hopefully it will be in today or tomorrow.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
I had to take a break from the metal work on the bed. I polished an original '72 under rear window trim and got it installed. Looks good separating the two colors.
Next to install the side mirrors I bought from Mikes Billet Mirrors.

Besides the cool factor I was thinking about where you would put stuff if you didn't want to put anything in the finished bed and we know the cabs are tight on space.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
I’m alive, walking and still working, but the truck is still sitting, some things are a struggle at times, back when i moved my truck in the garage I couldn’t lift ether leg up onto the bull bars I installed (4” lift) so i had to use a step stool, honestly I don’t know if i can now ether, I’d hate to think that I’ll have to add a step bar on the bottom of the bull bars... Good news is my neighbor has a extra garage with a paint booth in it and he has offered to let me use it when I’m ready, but i still cant do body work in my cramped garage, there is another problem i haven't figured out, the width of my garage doors, and his booth give maybe 5-6” tops side clearance to the body, i had to remove my mirrors to get it in the garage, not sure how to deal with that cause i like the stock mirrors. I think I'm gonna have to spring for a big shed for the back yard then gut my garage of benches, shelves ect to make working room and store it all my stuff out there.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
Hey Mike that sounds like a plan. The best thing I did was get a shop. Next will be a clean place to store the finished truck when not in use.
I received my 3m flex foam but they sent the incorrect applicator gun. So now I have to order the correct one so puts me a week behind I bet. I was able to get the buttons installed for the bedside door poppers. https://youtu.be/MJ66pyQQgfY

Here is the Mikes billet mirrors I was telling you guys about.
They are pretty cool. I placed them farther forward then normal since I removed the wing windows. Getting closer to having this cab completed and ready for interior. Just waiting on the tinted side windows.

A little update on the bed.
Finally got the doors aligned and secured. Started body work. A little more sanding and ready for primer.
