Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Night shots. Only did the T3 with morimoto 3.0. It's actually not that bad. There is a cut off line but a little scatter on low beam. This is just 1 bulb. Once all 4 bulbs are done and they can all be adjusted in a rad support well see how it looks

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I put a morimoto 3.0 bulb in one of my fog lights and it has a nice beam pattern in it and the light stays down. 1st pic is just the fog light and 2nd is with the headlight low beam. I was reay hoping for better results with the headlights. The morimoto 3.0 are 5500k and the holly retrobrights are 5700k sothecolor wouldbe similar. I'll probably end up picking 4 of those up for the truck.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
I did a tweek to the light shield on the led headlight low beams and got rid of the annoying line on top and I'm extremely happy with that. I did a comparison from an original t3 low beam to the led t3 and here are the results.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Today my cab is getting ready for the new roof panels. In the next 2 weeks it will be getting some more work done on it!

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
So now that my body man separate the door skins I took the old ones home so I could make sure my bulbs and locks fit into the hole in the door. Well it didn't and I did not want to make it any larger so I went back to work. I needed to use thinner wire and aclaner route for the wires. So here is the final on these. I used elastic bands with a hole made into then to support the wires to the housing and they just fit thru the hole nicely. This is much brighter than the optic cables.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
First you want me to believe you're going to drive this in the rain....now it seems like you're telling me that you're going to drive it in the dark. I feel like this entire build is a prank.
...and if it is, I'm super here for it. Too cool.

As you May be able to tell I love lighting. I enjoy driving at night so I will definitely be cruising in this truck in the dark.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
We'll this morning I found the last of the elusive rare era options I wanted for my 67 for a really reasonable price. Honestly I thought I'd never get this because of how much money they bring . Rpo v75 liquid tire chain. The canisters will mount in the rear splash shield with a protection shield around them that I will make. So I can access to refill the cartridges. I know the trucks never came with this back then but in today's world they would if it was offered. How much fun would it be if a person could put bleach in these ! https://www.hagerty.com/media/mainte...%20into%20grip.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Lol. It's kind of useless on a truck that will never see snow (neither has spider man to my recollection) but i always thought they were a cool and unique option. Here's where they mounted in the 1969 cars they came in.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Ha. I didn't lie when i said slow going but the stock part definitely got away on me. Id like to think i kept everything era though. It better not take me 10 more years. I'm a little disappointed it has already been 10. But the wait will be worth it

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
The frame will soon be going to meet the cab at the metal shop for door and front end alignment. I put the lid on to get it off the floor. I'm really not sure about this one but we'll see. If I do I will make the key match the doors using a gm lock. I am going to remove all the engine accessories and close it up for its travels.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
The more I look at this lid the more I dont like it. It lloooks outof place with all the era stuff i have put in the truck nd makes it look too 90's. I have already decided I'm not going to use it but it will serve as protection of my stuff in the box till it needs to come off for metal work I guess.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Here are some pictures of how the conduit will run in to the door from the pillar. Had the pillar area recesed so the boot wnt kink and i can still use the fender to cab seals. Looks sharp. Now the old hole can be welded up Added the interior light door actuator hole to my cab as well. Always wondered why they wouldn't have just started with those in 67. The cars had them already.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
PToday I finished drilling the rest of the holes for my curly maple bed floor. The rest of the truck will go to the bodyshop in the next couple of weeks so after this I'll finish coat it. That is all I will have to do when it's all gone to the shop. I ordered the jet black dye today as well! This is what I hoe to have as a finish product.

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
So as I'm going thru this stuff to get ready for paint (hopefully sooner than later ) I'm finishing up the small stuff I wanted to do. I took the column apart for repaint and since I moved my column back I added enough metal to the shift tube to put the linkage back in the factory spot. I'm not sure if this would have given me trouble but I didn't want to find out after it was painted and installed

Re: 67 GMC super custom build
Made a little recessed area on the floor hump area So the rug can sit flat and the power seat harness will be undetectable under it. Also added the pins to the new floor that hold the factory flooring and insulation in place. The new floors do not have those.
