Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Stop and pick up a little more gear oil tomorrow and diff cover swap will be done. Front diff is full, just have to top off the 14 blt rear! The Ballistic covers have way more capacity than the stock ones! Anybody know if a GovLoc needs additive? Currently running 3:73 gears, but planning on swapping out to 5:13's so I can run 40"-or 42" Nitto rubber.

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Got it done today. 12 more ounces of gear oil and rear is good to go. Need to fire it up next, and move it around a bit, then recheck the levels front and rear. NO LEAKS!

Got it fired up and out of the pole barn. Cleaned up the floor from the diff cover swap. Getting the other q-jet carb rebuilt this week. One step at a time!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Tried to mock up the ORD steering box brace kit today. It will not be a direct bolt in, my brake lines-prop valve are in the way. Need to rethink this, and move some stuff to make it fit!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Right, MX289! I need to think this through well as all my brake lines are brand new. Lines might have got routed a little different when the 1 tons got swapped in. Where there's a will, there's a way!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Turns out some linkage is missing off my carb being rebuilt. Should be able to transfer some from the q-jet on my motor now. Linkage for the choke and the secondarys. Know more tommorrow.

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
I could'nt wait, went out and took some pic's of the current dirty carb setup. I admitt, I know nothing about carbs-but it looks like some major linkage is missing off of the carb I have been running for quite some time.I put a call in to John, and possibly meet up yet tonight to see what he has for spare parts at the shop. Here's some pic's!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Not trying to break any rules here, but can any members help me out with some linkage? Got the newer carb almost done, and need some linkage to hook it up right. Looking at some new air cleaners also to spruce it up a bit! HELP MY BROTHERS!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Thank's Jaro, yes that pic helps. Just ordered up a secondary linkage rod from Quadrajetparts.com Same place I bought all my rebuild parts for the replacement q-jet from. Going to wait on the choke replacement parts until I swap in the 383 to see what I need to set up on the intake manifold. Been running without a choke setup for this long, I can wait a little longer for that!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Finally found the 4 row radiater I wanted! Just ordered it up. I will have to modify my new core support a bit, but that's no problem. Ran me $350.00, but only $15.00 shipping!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Got the new radiator yesterday, and it looks great. Came with lines capped off for use with an auto trans also. I got the secondary throttle rod and retainer linkage I needed for the q-jet I'm getting rebuilt. Getting there one part at a time!

Removed my current (dirty) Qjet carb last night. Hoping we can strip some choke parts/linkage and use on the rebuild!
