Interesting question.

Being a Conventional fan, that is something that I never thought of, lol.

Typically the rack tilts up to accommodate the cab tilt if those even did. Some early pete and kw didn't tilt at all.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

That International is actually wicked from a street rod or full custom point of view. It's just to funky, meaning that in a good way. It has a chassis of formula 1 ability yet a big pilot house sitting up front not even trying to hide what it is. Good aerodynamics? Yeah right . Does that matter? Heck no! I wonder about weight distribution balanced with the rear drivetrain, could be ok. But that cab didn't make it easy. Quite a piece.

I think it's beautiful, something that would really make for a good daily driver.

Thanks for Peterbilt air suspension! The COEs started disappearing and now they are back and many done really nicely.

So you like this one?

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Just for an additional comment, the above two trucks are pretty cool, but I can't help to not notice that both do not have Head Boards. Check out the load that the first truck is carrying.

Both my Flat Bed Trucks had strong Steel Head Boards and I do not know how many times I was thankful for them, lol.

Yeah, I think they're a good idea. Nice to know at least something is there.

I like the paint on the first one. Here is a factory picture

Not required anymore.
And that white 362 used to belong to a friend of mine. Awesome little hay truck, as a matter of fact they're both hay trucks.
Those 2 axles are what I grew up around, I also got my license in a 2 x freightliner with a short 28'6 hay wagon

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

I wondered if you knew that hay wagon I showed. Those never did have more than a tall rack up front anyway. I think cabover straight trucks are cool. It was a tandem, but the first big truck I drove was an old Freightliner dump truck in '76. I was building a shop for an excavating contractor and he put it together that way. It had been an over the road tractor

Those two Freightliners in post 948 were put together in our shop. The one in front used to be my heavy haul tractor years ago and the one in back was the first tri axle I ever drove (sort of).

When we built the one in the back last winter, it was stripped down to bare frame rails. WE left the pusher hanging on it. The old Cummins got replaced with a 60 series Detroit. WE replaced every piece of the suspension and axles, changed the cab and rebuilt the bed.

We loaded these out of a parking garage in SF but theyre owned by bmw.

Mini Hatch/Hardtop, Clubman, Convertible, Coupe and Roadster are assembled at BMW's Plant Oxford in Cowley, England, and the Countryman and Paceman are assembled by Magna Steyr in Austria.

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Ok, that explains the west coast import. I knew they were a German/British deal. That's cool Australia gets some action from them.

Now that is one tough truck. The springs look normal like it's not even carrying a load.

Like the solid rubber tires.

And the driver was probably just as tough. No pansies allowed.
