Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Small update this weekend...
Helped the boy move out yesterday, he and his fiancé moved into a house about 45 minutes south of here...

Today I started in on the cab… got the back sanded and into primer…
Here's a photo of the sanding in process… In the midst of sanding I had a call from Jeff, aka Da_Bears_da1 He is down for a visit with his Dad and picked up a 62' C20 Camper… If I remember correctly he is the 3rd owner, and it is solid, 32000 original miles, 283… a True Survivor...

Then a couple of pics of the back in primer...

Impressive stuff Don.

What sort of power does a 305 push out??

First Thursday of the month tomorrow so my truck will be headed for Chatham again. Delivering some wood paneling to Nicola's dads place.

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

That has to be the second worst area I've ever sanded - the back of the cab. I think the only thing more difficult is the interior. The are so many different shaped curved areas with stamped details just about everything has to be done by hand! Nice to see that in primer!

The cab work is looking great, Don. I've been plugging away on my interior metal. I got the last of the interior in epoxy tonight, except the dash. Your work is giving me motivation to keep it up.

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Thought I'd better post something… Summer has finally arrived here in Central Arkansas, Very Hot & Humid...
Life has once again stepped in and slapped me in the head… No truck time since earlier this month, but some of life's issues have been worked out and the future is lookin' brighter...
Today I met a fellow forum member from the 67-72 side… he mentioned his name and it was either Elvis or Ellis, I didn't catch it as I was drooling over the 6.0 LS thumping it's cam through the headers...
Very clean and sounded mean...
My phone was in the car with the dog and he didn't think to get pics as we were talking but I managed to snap a couple as the sweet 68,69,72 drove off… The truck started as a 69, ended up with a 68 grille and a 72 frame… 4 wheel disc on 20's...
Enjoy Guyz and maybe I'll get some truck time in this weekend...
