Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I spent the evening putting the fuse box seal on and aligning the fenders and hood. I got the drivers side close and the passenger side needs the door adjusted then the fender can be put right. I have been thinking about the porter bilt hinges kit and I really like them. I will save my dimes though. I shot some pics so you can see that having one panel or door off can throw the whole alignment off. I should have started with the doors then moved forward. But I think I'll start with them after Choncho gets running. I also threw the cowl on and it will be chopped and diced to fit like it should. I have never liked the way these cowls fit.

I know my wiring looks messy. I will order a wiring gutter soon and tape it up too.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

You just need Rus to spark those wires and not want the battery unhooked, and me to lean on those fenders. A job that requires that I just lean against a truck....Perfect!

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Thanks Scott. I have it covered now. I hooked up my new battery and turned the key and the fuel gauge went from 1/4 tank to E so I think it's working. Also my lights came on. I had to fiddle with one bulb but it came on. I'm just going to use it in the truck while its getting the motor broke in and while its at the painter. I have a nice vac, tach. speed warning dash that'll go in when its all painted.

I turned on the lights and my headlights only work on bright. It may be the floor switch or the headlight switch on the dash. I also bumped the starter just to see if it would and it did. Just did it once. I need to re prime the oil pump before I start cranking on it.

I bought the battery and fluids and a couple little parts and racked up a 375.00 bill in no time. I did buy a tranny filter kit and tranny and ps fluid for Tonto too.
I installed an inline fuel filter since Its been a while since I've had fuel in the tank. Its just one of those cheap see thru ones. I'll probably change it out after it stays clean for a few tanks.

Heres a pic of my four eyes.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

For those of you that don't know, tomorrow I will be having a work day on my two trucks. Some guys from the middle Tennessee area are having these every month and this is my month. I got some temporary pipe going outside in case its cold tomorrow. It should be running if all goes well. and stopping too. I am glad that its my month. I am excited to get my truck running. And I get to see all my buds! and eat chili
