Re: 198Plus build

Very nice. Why not paint the bed with the front part on? I did mine the same way. Now I'm wondering how to put it together with out messing up the paint on the front bed bolts?

Re: 198Plus build

Thanks....It makes it easier to wet sand front and inside bed panels, plus I'm using stainless steel bolts in the front panel.

I guess I'll be using stainless too. I knew you had it all figured out.

Here's some better pics of the clips for the side moulding. I couldn't find the big spring clip, but the small one is the same style.

Thanks.......I wished Alan could come to my shop, I'd make him a partner. He would need a (heli copter) for the long trip.

Re: 198Plus build

Heck, just tell him to move...I am sure that he could figure something out....LOL. It looks like your shop is putting out some great work.

And Alan as always does great work...it is refreshing to know that there are guys like you all who care about the quality of the work and don't just put out crap and charge guys....

anyway, keep up the great job and thanks for sharing your build with us!

Re: 198Plus build

Yeah I love the detailed work you put into your build. I wish I was one state closer so I could bring you my bed to have it done to save me some time on mine.

Aw... just find a buddy or two and put it on a trailer and have a great road trip weekend.... good quality work in a body shop is hard to find.... shoot, most guys probably blow more money on booze in a weekend than it would cost to road trip your bed over to his shop....LOL...LOL....

i agree...i sometimes hint at dropping mine off to either Alan or Ronnie once I'm ready and can afford paint, body work, or other repairs...and if either is willing to take it on, i won't hesitate when the time comes...i appreciate the quality & detail they put into their work...living in Mississippi most of my life, i know of some quality shops there who could do the work...but i have trouble finding any custom shops here in my area of SC...i'm sure there are some around, but they seem to be harder to find than back in MS....but i honestly feel like i know some people on this site better than I could any shop, simply because we get to follow their builds and see behind the scenes work play-by-play

I hope to have an open bay in my shop come spring time. That will be when mine is running and driving.
