Yes sir, don't know the whole history (I'm not from TN)
but it was still in use up to around 2-3 years ago. I was
told it's 1 of the oldest original ones left. (Can't confirm)

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

How's this for random? When I found this in an antique shop it was labeled "bacon press". Really? An aluminum bacon press, ey? Must be the lightweight model for making curly bacon . I was thinking it might be a pot strainer but what do I know?

Pot strainer. For as long as I can remember (the mid 60's) my mom has had one. Although hers has a yellow handle. At one point in the 90's I had to tighten up the rivets for the handle.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

I'm going to have to try to make a hundred of those traps.. I probably killed a thousand of them critters past summer..

this pile of sawdust is typical around the pole barns.. while we replaced the overhead electrical, I was replacing these old fuse boxes for breakers.. probably killed hundreds with my cap.. bout every 30sec - 1min swooop!

interestingly, although there are so many of them in the buildings, I've never seen a bunch of them all together at once.. but there'll be a steady stream of them right behind the ones that are killed..

I know it's rednecked with the duplex rigged straight to the panel, but all I had time for and still a vast improvement

Tim great pics. I really like old depots. Looked that one up, fun little museum. I'm sure glad these parts of our history are being saved! If you ever get a chance watch the movie "The Station Agent". Here is a link to that depot.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

The depot in my town, Mt. Airy, had always been a pharmacy at the people end and a medical center in the cargo end. But recently the big side became a museum I have yet to visit. They also placed a restored caboose across Main St from the depot recently. They built a canopy to shelter it. Mt. Airy came about with the coming of the B&O RR. My house is older than the town.

On our way back to home here in Idaho from lower California a few years ago ..the wife and I stopped off I-80 at a place called Trukee California ,,just before Reno Nevada,,,I believe it was ,,so we could could get a bite to eat and play the slots.. this Bonnie and Clyde car was in a small room of the casino .

A sign said Do Not Touch,, but the kid in me said "stick your fingers in some of them "" Bullet Holes " {{probably from a Tommy Gun}} ... It was in a dark room and all by it's self and I did stick my finger in a few bullet holes...

and took this photo please don't tell any one I did this.. lol

The B&C car along with some German staff car were in a traveling display back in 1972 when I saw them. Not long after the movie was out I think.

A little bit of useless Bonnie and Clyde history. Clyde loved the Ford V8 and stole them as often as he could. One of their getaway cars was recovered and it was discovered the Tommy gun rounds (.45 ACP) were only making dents in the doors and not penetrating. When the pair was ambushed many of the officers had Browning automatic rifles in .30-06, which obviously did the deed.

As for random photos, here is a picture I took on one of my favorite hike in fishing spots in northern Arkansas. This is what you see when you first exit the trail from the woods. Bluff is about 100 feet tall and the water is probably 15-20 feet deep at the base off to the left out of the photo.
